Sony Xperia 1 vs. Samsung Galaxy S10+

Unfortunately, way too many Sony fanboys here, surprisingly.
You would think that combined, they could help prop up Sony's dwindling smartphone market share. But no, most of them, I am sure, argue for Sony on forums, but when it is time to purchase with their own money, they would rather stick with Apple and/or Samsung.
I quite like Sony myself, but it could not hold a candle against options that offer a lot more for a lot less, or a LOT LOT more for the same price, so now Sony has exited the market I belong to.

xperia 1 dynamic range sucks! how come gsmarena said it's a tie on day light scene. didn't you notice that the shadows way too dark there? I mean seriously??

Once you upload the file to SNS, share it with your friends or transfer it to other devices, it becomes pretty much useless.

for camera always check dxo gsmarena is just not good at it. i would like to see what X1 does there.

is funny, GSMArena is trying too much to not believe that the Xperia 1 has unique attributes.
Like the display, were the Xperia 1 can show 1.07 billion colors but the S10 only 16M, not enough with that the Xperia 1 has a better calibrated display for SDR and for HDR and supports BT.2020
And saying that the winner is the S10 just because use the ancient and limited sRGB is a fail, considering that in 2019 the HDR is becoming more and more important.
I can say the same with video capabilities, the S10 is better just for the stabilization???
Completely ignoring major points like Color Science, true dynamic range with Hybrid Log-Gamma, 10 Bits of video recording and manual features.
For video the Xperia 1 is way better.

Even using higher bitrate.
You can record as long it has storage and battery left.
Just with s10 series Samsung removed the limit. Other haven't yet.

A phone without stereo speakers, no sd slot, cheaper oled, no 4K HDR recording, no GG6, no usb 3.1 ...
I know the relationship between SAR and radiation.
Many xiaomi phones have SAR (head) above 1,00 while most phones from Sony and Samsung dont even reach 0,7.
XZ3 has 0.14
Mi A1 = 1,75
Mi Max3 = 1.58
Mix 3 = 1,45

My Sony XZ (2016) SD820 flagship phone still gives me a full day of usage before needing to charge.... I never disabled Sony Battery Care since the start so it really helped keep the Battery Degradation go slow over the years.

I think it all boils down to these simple facts:
If you are a casual photographer, any modern day flagship will serve you just fine.
On the other hand, If you want your photos to look a particular way, better learn how to edit photos.
