Anonymous, 30 Sep 2019Truth be told, you got some things right - like when you sa... moreWhile I get your point. There are some faults in your argument.
Fistly, Android has 74.5% market share. All English speaking countries and countries with a lot of money and higher percentage of educated people prefer iOS. This website is in English! This would bring the expected percentage of user base for each platform closer together.
Secondly, Sony, LG, Samsung are all direct competitors as they are all Androids! There's no ecosystem involved so criticism in those articles is to be expected. Now 90% of people commenting here have no interest in apple devices and would never buy one or can't afford one at all. So no the amount of criticism apple gets from users on GSMArena is not justified.
Reading the same hateful comments again and again and again is tiring!
I use both platforms! Before I got an iphone I was loving Android but I liked apple products, just couldn't afford one.
If you liked German cars would you like to visit a car website and ALL comments in ALL articles about say BMW was flooded with Korean/Japanese drivers criticising? Even as a general car fanatic?

To wrap up, iPhones are phones for more developed countries and wealthy countries. The DO provided the best UX regardless of specs. Apple doesn't even give the specs! Reviewers rely on benchmark software. ( There's speculation that the new iphones have a dedicated 2GB of ram for ISP). You cannot compare apples and oranges! (pun intended)

Now let the minority of people who ARE interested in iPhones to enjoy an article without being called names and bombarded with spec numbers. Do like iPhone users do and leave android articles to the android users.

TechRadar, 30 Sep 2019Truth be told, iPhones have an overall better user experien... moreTruth be told, you got some things right - like when you said specs (especially raw processor speed) is not all that matters in a phone. :)

Gsmarena is a free site. It reviews mostly android phones and as expected, more readers here prefer Android phones over iPhones. Besides, with android phones making up 85% of the market, what do you expect? iPhone love?

In defence to your wrong perception, let me just reiterate, flagship android phones here routinely get criticisms too, with some criticized as heavily as iphones: from Sony Xperia (top criticized android brand) to LG phones, to Samsung flagships, to Google Pixel phones, to Xiaomi and Huawei phones. It's not envy. It's just the way discussion forums go. If you call iPhone criticisms iPhone-envy, then you might as well call Pixel criticisms as Pixel-envy or Samsung criticisms as Samsung-envy or Huawei criticisms and Sony criticisms as Huawei-envy, or Sony-envy respectively.

Another thing: android users comment on iPhone articles because there is universal interest in where smartphone technology is heading: it is not limited to the latest Android phone advances only, but iPhone developments as well. iPhones copy camera features (low light camera modes), hardware (ultrawide cameras), and other android features (phone shape/design, dark interface /dark modes, widgets) from android phones in the same way Android phones copy from iphones (notches, fingerprint scanner, phone shape/design, etc.). It's just the way it is so don't be too emotional about iPhone criticisms in GSMarena.

Truth be told, iPhones have an overall better user experience, from hardware to software. Not all people are nerds who just drool on specs and do not understand UX at all.

If you don't want to buy an iPhone, then don't buy one. Apple users tend to don't care about the latest stuff in the world of Android, but Android users always rant and rumble whenever a new iDevice gets launched.

Is it out of envy, knowing that their preferred Android products do not get the same thunder as Apple products do? Then, Android OEMs should make truly better products that the general public can appreciate and understand, and not just some lump of high end specs mumbo jumbo that an average man cannot use easily.

Good product design is about simplicity and ease of use, not a specs race. The fact that Android users grit their teeth here on an iPhone review proves that their preferred products are inferior, and their sentiments hypocritical.

If you add all the flagship Android phone sales, It's still more voluminous than your iphone can ever imagine. This is the second year your popular iphone lost market share (expected to continue to slide to 13% this year) and the first time Apple reduced prices of the cheapest model because iphone users simply are realizing Apple is milking them money and that after all, it's only the Apple logo they're after, aka bragging rights.

Apple still makes the lions share of profits as well.

Most people buy Android because it’s all they can get, not that it’s what they want, keep reaching for that market share straw though, it means nothing in the end.
