AnonD-893002, 06 Oct 2019Apparently you do not even know what you are talking about:... moreSimply put:
1. The 64MP is the true resolution of the sensor. But sensor alone only captures black & white picture.
2. Bayer filter is added in order to add color to each pixels. In this case, it's using 4:1 Bayer filter. 4 photosites each color filter. This would reduce the native coloured resolution to 16MP hence this resolution is used as a default resolution.
3. The 64MP coloured resolution can only be achieved in computational manner thus every time a user uses this resolution, the phones takes time to process the image.
4. The compute operation used is more like rearranging the colours (matrix conversion) evenly distributing them to form 64MP image.
5. The image quality of the 64MP depends on how good the matrix conversion is. For example, Sony's IMX586 (48MP) has better image compared to Samsung's GM1 (48MP) because it has a better matrix conversion and NOT because Samsung employs a mere "interpolation".
6. Thus the 64MP coloured image is never a TRUE 64MP native image. It's just an approximate of the 4:1 binned image, it can only be achieved via computational matrix conversion.
7. User's interpretation of "interpolation" is different from what the 4:1 pixel binned matrix conversion is.
8. To sum this all-up, the sensor is TRUE 64MP black & white, has a native 16MP coloured, and an approximate 64MP coloured image after matrix conversion.
The term "interpolation" (as interpreted by commoners) is just used by people whom doesn't fully understand the technology regarding pixel-binned sensors and just tries to generalise it as "interpolated" when the image captured does not satisfy their expectations.
All the 64MP photosites are there. They're not just "interpolated".

AnonD-894375, 08 Oct 2019I think you need to read your own comment. You are comparin... moreI see that clearly you don't understand that I responding a comment from another user: this other user (link in the original comment) was saying that the redmi has better antutu than iphone X, before I quoted what that user said I started with the subtitle: another lie, (refering that what this user said about iphone's score is a lie) then I respond that quoted with: on antutu v7 or V8 NO MIDRANGE, beat iphone's last year flagship, clearly stating that those score were wrong.
hoping I explained myself well.

TBH, i think many people will buy this even without knowing the chipset just because the design look great and it's a complete package (NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, great battery, great camera in it's segment). Most casual user maybe don't play game very often in mobile phones just for social media. And i'm very confident that this chipset will be smoth for many daily usage, and playing a little bit of games. Just hoping it can be amoled though but for the price i can't complain.

Bogdan, 07 Oct 2019Author forgot to compare with Galaxy M30sWell, they haven't tested it yet and it's barely out as well as its an India-only device as far as I can see, so that is understandable.
Generally speaking though, on the base models you get 6GB RAM on the Redmi Note 8 Pro and 4GB on the M30s. The Redmi also has a larger camera sensor, which is likely in its favor - in addition to its macro sensor which the M30s lacks.
The Redmi features NFC, which at least in Europe and US is preferred for google pay, or equivalent. Not sure about India though. Perhaps QR is more common there.
The M30s has a significantly bigger battery, but generally speaking both have ample battery capacity.
The IPS of the Redmi will be more color accurate at high brightness and provide a sharper image, whereas the SAMOLED of the M30s will offer higher contrast and deeper blacks in a dark environment at lower brightness.
The Redmi's G90t with its Mali-G76 MC4 significantly outperforms the Exynos 9611 and its Mali-G72 MP3.
If camera and performance isn't a main priority, but on screen time is then go for the M30s.
If camera, performance and/or NFC is important than go for the Redmi.

Studio compare tool - low light
I think the low light shot in 16MP is a bit faulty. It looks horrible, even compared to the 64MP when all scaled på 12MP - which should perform worse. It's also significantly worse the the standard Redmi Note 7 Pro.
https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=9812&idPhone3=9513&idCamera2=300624
Please re-shoot studio low light in 16MP if possible.

AnonD-893002, 07 Oct 2019Frankly, are you serious there ??! Where did I say that th... moreHere: https://www.gsmarena.com/reviewcomm-1997p8.php comment number 4
quoted: 4) It has a GPU of 800Mhz (higher than the frequency of the SD 855)
another lie:
6) With an AnTuTu V7 score of 225,000 points it is far better than the iPhone X (186,000 points) and is on par with the Huawei P20 Pro (besides the Helio g90t is better than the Kirin 970 which equips this P20 pro) ...
On antutu v7 or V8, Qualcomm, mediatek or Kirin, No midrange is close to apple last year flagship.
This is funny:
3) The processor of this smartphone (Hélio G90T) has a stress test identical to that of the SD 845; it gives you an idea of its ability to handle heating under heavy workloads and yes sir! Thanks to Xiaomi for this liquid-cooled room that equips this Redmi note 8 Pro ...
it is clearly in the review show that even with dedicate cooling doesn't beat the 845 Although many benchmarks on YouTube show otherwise, this is because the G90T cannot maintain its power in long sessions.

Anyway, I was reacting to your last sentence about the SD675 and I thought I understood you to say that the SD 675 GPU was better than the Helio g90T GPU; and that's why I put the link in comparison with RN7 Pro (with A612) and RN8 Pro (with Mali G76 MC4).

NyxSin, 07 Oct 2019I only stated what is on the review LoL helio G90T is overr... moreHow is that overrated, do you even know what it means? Mediatek never mentioned that it is completing with the flagship or SD845 (Adreno 630), it is meant to complete with SD730, and it did. You came in and bash that it is not even close to Adreno 630, then tell me any mid-range level chip from Qualcomm itself has GPU close to Adreno 630? Even SD730G ain't close...
Dumb to randomly throw in a flagship chip and bashing. You may as well throw in Apple A13.

Where did I say that the Mali G-76 MC4 was better than the Adreno 630 (the Adreno 630 clearly outclasses it) ??? In addition, I am neither a fan of Qualcomm or Mediatek, nor a critic of Qualcomm or Mediatek also !!! Anytime "To all lord, all honor" as this quote says. So, if I can praise Mediatek's prowess, I'll do it anyway, without denigrating Qualcomm, because they too make great masterpieces.
