Anonymous, 05 Oct 2019Pure GPU test... Try to play game on your PC with a nVidia... moreWell, if you read chain reply before that, I wrote ± "I bet it's losing to sd820 in gpu performance". See!? I was trying to compare strictly gpu only. A gaming SoC losing vs 3yo SoC in one of most important part for gaming performance, pfft

Of course sd820 will lose in overall, because it's only 4 cores, old architecture, and old 14nm. It's 3years old and cost as cheap as $230, with $30 cashback (when I bought my mi5)

Two things unfavourable against Mediatek are heats and source code, but for this chip they're pretty generous. Even the battery endurance rating is top-notch. In term of reliability, I think we need not be sceptic, since my cousin's Redmi Note 2 (Mediatek) still alive in full health until Today. Either this one or Realme X2 should be the real mid-ranger and flagship killers.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2019You can't use any emulator to make comparison between Snapd... moreKirin 810 (mali GPU) has no problems because it has no thermal throttling, and the problem with the benchmarks is that they are short, the G90T will always win but in long sessions those 12nm are noticed.

Do not jump with the qualcomm monopoly, there are about 10 times more Malis GPUs in the market (thanks to samsung and huawei) and not optimizing for them would be to lose a lot of money, also maybe they would receive some optimization if they were more open with their code, and clarify, mediatek does not release its code (https://techrad.io/news/1581/mediatek-wont-release-its-source-code-but-why/) OEMs do it, which means that not everyone does it and not all the code.
Qualcomm has the aurora project with which it works together with developers.

              You can see crazy behaviors.
For exemple Mali 880mp4 can work better than Mali G71mp20...really crazy! G71mp20 must be 5 or 6x better!

Qualcomm's monopoly is really a hell! And people applause! Sad world!

Redmi phones are legends for the price. I can buy 5 Redmi note 8pros for entire family comparable to 1 iphone cost.

Xiaomi made a nice bet using this SOC on their Smartphone, which proves to be a winner and a success for both themselves and Mediatek. Now that this processor is a super masterpiece for Mediatek, we can expect better for the future HELIO M8 graves on 8 nm et based on the ARM's Cortex A77, which should at least be better than the SD 845 and the Kirin 980. And well place to the beautiful competition.

As much as one can speculate on the test results of the Benchmarks to twists and turns, but the reality is and will always be in practice. And in practice what does it give the Adreno 530 against Mali G76 MC4? - This gives the Helio G90T is easily able to turn PUBG thoroughly (maximum configuration) and FORTNITE fluidly without discomfort.
