A 50€ phone with barely 3g and a 2mpx camera was once a technological marvel that was selling for 600€. Just because a phone doesn't have the latest and the greatest in every possible way (no phone does btw, there all always compromises and things that could have been done better), it doesn't mean that it technically isn't an amazing thing, even more so when it combines a foldable screen in a tiny body. And of course, when it combines the tech with function, which this phone does. The goal here isn't stuffing a phone with all the functions known to mankind, but trying something new with, again, COMPROMISES that needed to be made for the main goal - a foldable screen in a pocket friendly body - to be realized. I really don't think they build the new razr around the form of the old one (nostalgia). I think the form of the new one exists because of the market prerequisites and the logical flow of foldable technology.

True technology lover care more about function than style or nostalgia. I see why people are excited to get a glimpse of future. I just don't see it when people said this is the phone they actually want. Considering the price ,it's spec and how little it brings to the table.

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2019All of you who claim to want this phone are not true techno... moreExactly the opposite! People like you who are comparing this phone with the likes of numerous touchscreen slabs that all look the same and brought literally nothing new to the table for years other than stuffing phones with chipsets 90% of the people don't even know how to take advantage of anyways are the ones who don't understand the true technological marvel that is the new razr. Yes, it doesn't have the newest and the most powerful specifications in any way, but it offers something truly unique and memorable, something that really let's you feel the glimpse of the future of mobile technology and everything it will offer. And the price goes with that, it's the first generation duuuh, what did you expect? All technological breakthroughs were once expensive, dear. Then eventually became available to the masses, cause, well, competition. Very logical. Don't like it? Don't buy it. Frankly, I won't either. It's not for everyone. But I will definitely appreciate when something new and fresh is brought to the table, and moto/Lenovo did that.

Fayth, 19 Nov 2019I didn't mean the vertical fold style. Motorola has found ... moreIt won't happen as easily on a horizontal fold, you could guess easily that the mechanism asks for a lot of empty space for the central folding portion to be completely housed inside the chassis. The longer the hinge, the more empty space you need. Until screens could fold down to a tighter curve, it won't happen on a horizontally folding device.

The hinge is well designed but offer nothing extra but nostalgic.

All I can say is enjoy paying $800+ for that one gimmick.

I can buy it second hand for half of its rrp price. Price drop should be quick because ...it is Motorola.

Amazing phone but the price is not logical,
it's a pity, it could have been a big hit but with this price I doubt it.

Iam seriously liking this Razr, I don't know why. Although it's spec like the SoC 710 which can be found on the Nokia 8.1 and it's single camera from the Pixel 3a, ( basically adequate for it's price) it's no doubt the best foldable/flip phone ever that I have seen.

Folds the screen inward without crease, check notification on the secondary display, very portable, very nostalgic vibe feeling... PERFECT!!!!

Per what I searched the price "unsubsidized" was between U$600-800 at 2004.
