I'll probably wait for an update or two before committing to the phone. I'd probably trade the heating issue with the camera because it's just that damn good. I'm not a pixel peeper, but the details is just amazing.

      This phone is fast enough to provide the same experience to me as my old 845 based flagship phone. It's primarily people who haven't tried it who moan about the chip.

      The cameras are what's really important to me and if the processing can be improved through firmware update, this phone will be perfect.

      But even as is, it's camera can be as good or better than any Android flagship.

        Need an honest input about heating (issue/non issue?) of the unit. A friend of mine lend me his Mi Note 10 Pro, Indonesia market version. The camera I think is the main selling point for the phone, but I do wonder if the heating issue is specific to me, or am I being too sensitive about it. Suffice to say, I return the phone to my friend slightly heartbroken. I just can't stand holding the phone while gaming or after spirited session of photo sessions. We know that the phone has unique logic board placement because of the camera module and the large battery, where it's located exactly where a right hander palm/hold their phone. Except for the heating issue (for me), everything about this phone is just amazing. Loving the MIUI, loving the camera, loving the form factor, but that heating issue.

                  I bought this phone next day when it was available. Now these are the reasons:

                  1) Still can run 99% of games efficently
                  2) Suma sumarum 15 eur per month+20 EUR tariff= 35 EUR, Huawei P30 pro totally 41EUR. So i gain 24m x 6 EUR= 148 EUR..Is Huawei Kirin worth 148 eur? Nope.
                  3) Camera top notch.
                  4) MIUI..EMUI doesnt have few features which MIUI has.
                  5) It is sleek, doesnt slip much, little bit taller, weight doesnt bother.
                  6) 60 hz or 120 hz?? who cares, phone is on money.
                  7) fast charge? Oh yea it is quick. really quick.

                  Turn on dark mode, battery consumption 15% less than normal. So far so good, no problems, curved glass needed a bi of adjusting for me (flat glass before). But i wanted diversity and thats what i got.

                    harwey, 05 Feb 2020It's interesting to read all the complaints about that SD 7... moreI did finally get the chance to try the phone (Mi Note 10 Pro, not regular Note 10) and apps do open quickly enough. Maybe it's not on par with the S10+ overall, GSMArena is wrong. S10 (Exynos) series have improved quite a lot. Exynos chips provide fast short burst performance, but drops considerably in intensive gaming or apps/tasking.

                    Based on my experience using a S10e, opening apps, normal tasking, social media is quick enough. There are no hangs or whatsoever. The Mi Note 10 is worse it seems, but only by a small margin. Until you leave background apps running, that's where the iPhone beats both phones considerably as long as RAM is sufficient.

                    It's gaming where the S10 series suffers. Mi Note 10 Pro may not have higher settings than the S10, but at least SoC doesn't throttle too easily under load. S10 cannot give sustained frame rates in demanding games, such as PUBG or COD Mobile. What is meant, S10 is still faster, but as said, performance can drop significantly later. It also generates a lot of heat. Few times I have checked CPU-Z and the battery reaches about 43 degrees Celcius, near critical levels of battery temperature. Mi Note 10 is probably safer though, and performance is more sustained although slower. My S10e cannot even run PUBG Mobile at smooth graphics extreme (60fps) framerate consistently.

                    Anyway both phones are priced differently. I will rather get the Mi Note 10 this time if I have to resort to an Android device. Otherwise I'll pick the iPhone 11, prices also dropped considerably in my country this time (Pro is still very expensive, though).

                      It's interesting to read all the complaints about that SD 730 being too slow..GSMA said they used 200+ apps in their MiNote,with WiFi, Bluetooth,GPS turned on..and it's still on pair with S10+(with superior chipset and higher res display)..and they're wondering why battery life isn't better..with brand-new Miui11 OS not yet optimized fully..I'm absolutely sure that after an OS update,with 30 apps max on the phone and with WiFi,BT,GPS turned off when you don't need them,it'll be a great device...That said,that camera dept.might really need more horsepower to work properly,but maybe that could be fixed too with some camera update...

                        My wife owns Mi Note 10 Pro for 10 days. Good phone overall but recently it started emitting squish sound when pressed in the fingerprint sensor area, as if some kind of adhesive inside detached from behind the screen. Would not believe something that minor would be SO annoying! She has just gone to the service centre for replacement or refund. Has any of you Mi Note 10 owners experienced something similar?

                            ERrr Mi 5, Mi 6 and Mi 8, and Mi Mix 2s and Mi Mix 3, had OIS on their main camera. Only the Mi 9 didn't had.

                                  Experts says images procesing play a big role on image quality and this is clearly witnesed in xioami phones by having flagship camera sensers but photos ar not in the same scales of clarity like from apple or samsung phones,though camera AI is a part of those processing machines you shld always includs them when making reviews.

                                    In South East Asia countries, I don't think the Mi Note 10 is actually an expensive device, you should consider the Samsung A80 with flippy cameras. Not cheap of course, but not something that will burn your wallet. The Mi Note 10 is NOT a flagship device in this respect, but an upper midranger.

                                    SD730G should theoretically perform close to a Samsung S9 with Exynos chipset, whether it is in daily tasks or games. The plus side is that the SD chipset does not throttle too easily under load, while the Exynos toasts after playing graphics intensive games. Let's hope GsmArena claims that it is as fast as a S10+ with Android 9 is true. I had experienced a S10e myself and it's a pathetic slow device.

                                    Build quality is fine, I finally got the chance to test this in a Mi store. It's as heavy as the iPhone but it's alright I think. Look at the battery capacity, it's pretty huge. Xiaomi puts efforts in build quality in higher-priced phones, though you can't say the same in the Redmi K30 (Poco X2) or Note 8 Pro: they're fragile.

                                    Camera is great, just slightly let down by image processing and decent SoC.

                                    I have heard that the Android 10 version has many bugs, such as ghost touch. Hope this will be fixed soon.

                                    Anyway thumbs up for Xiaomi for making a formidable phone.







                                      Excellent camera quality for the price, but Xiaomi should work on improving detail processing in low contrast area as well as dynamic range. HDR is spotty and darker areas of the pictures look quite mushy and soft. The lens sharpness isn't really that great either (apart from UWA with really good corner sharpness), but nonetheless unparalleled versatility & image quality for a midrange smartphone. There are a few more kinks that I can point out but I believe Xiaomi can iron them out nicely with their upcoming flagship Mi 10.

It kinda sucks that so far all GCam ports have issues with either saturation or lens switching though, and I've seen some samples that exhibit serious rolling shutter effect when shooting fast moving objects (possibly due to slow read out speed of the sensor). Hopefully Mi 10 will come with all those problems resolved.
