Whackcar, 12 Feb 2020That 1" secondary display is downright pathetic & barel... morespace is a problem here... moto fixed the huge display because the hardware otherwise is downright mid tier.. this is a proper flagship level smartphone. Evermore, this display might be small, but it is nowhere near unusable. notification glances, selfie adjustment, small settings.. what more do you even expect?

All those users saying "Folded smartphones are dumb!" will probably start clapping and saying they are the next revolution when any of the cheap Chinese OEM release a fold device for cheap.

The same thing happened after they adopted the notch and dropped the 3.5mm jack, even though they were bashing Apple for months due to this.

A few early adopters will pay the price for this, but it really paves the way for future phones. Amazing how Samsung developed from a copy cat 20 years ago to an innovator today. Whether you like the brand or not.

Folding and unfolding that device throughout the day is going to get old fast. I owned an original RAZR, another flip phone, years ago, and hated it after awhile for that very reason.

I don't understand the purpose. It unfolds to become an ordinary sized phone. So why not just use an ordinary phone that is much cheaper and has fewer moving parts to potentially fail?

Some folding phones - such as the ZTE Axon M and the Galaxy Fold - unfold into a mini-tablet. That makes sense to me. But I don't understand the purpose of this flipping, clamshell style.

Fits unfolded in a pocket so what's the point, the galaxy fold you can't fit in your pocket unfolded so I can see the need. This is only for nostalgia and bored dudes.

Paul L, 12 Feb 2020Great article Viktor and the team. Why thank you mysterious "stranger". All the best from the team to you too.

That's not that I'm a fan of foldable smartphones but it's the only way to have small phone again apparently...

                            Motorola or Samsung ?

If I had to chose, maybe I would take the Motorola because its bigger external screen seems to be very practical. Reading messages and mails without opening the phone. Maybe it is the key for a longer durability of the hinge ?

But the specifications of the Samsung are far better... Battery, internal screen, cameras, processor...

Ah ! Idiot... I forgot that I will never put 1500€ in a phone.
I will wait one year or two... :)

17mm thick when folded?! My wallet is not that thick and it's still bulging my pocket.

Great article Viktor and the team.

Whackcar, 12 Feb 2020That 1" secondary display is downright pathetic & barel... moreI kinda like it, I feel like it does the main thing it's supposed to, i.e. showing you time, date and notifications without having to open the device itself.

Overall I like the phone itself and I REALLY like the form factor. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed it become mainstream so that maybe next year we're going to start seeing even some flip midrangers. I've had enough of the bricks that I can barely fit in my pocket.

That 1" secondary display is downright pathetic & barely of use. What were they thinking? The one on the RAZR is far more reasonable.

That aside, the other specs are pretty decent.
