As the other guy said, it is what the results should've looks like, pure digital quality (it works, but i wont call it as usable image).

            About the caught using Nikon camera for marketing purposes. Lets face it, every other company does it, including Sony (I've own several Sony flagship), Samsung & Apple. U can easily spot it with naked eyes. Ad main focus are just to show some function of the cam, but illustrate using higher image quality in order to capture crowd.

              You need at least 300mm and aperture bigger than f8 Full Frame equiv.
              Huawei persicope is near f24 FF equiv.

              Dont forget that Huawei Egypt let scape a photo taken by Nova was from Nikon.

                P30 pro captures unusable details in low light.
                S20 ultra gives a proper telephoto lens to use in every condition.

                Anyone can take good pictures in day light. There are many budget phones that match flagship phones in daylight images. But there is a night and day difference between them in low light scenarios.

                  Huawei didn't fake the moon shots as far as I know. It was just a rumor. You can even shoot in raw. Furthermore the quality of the moon is approximately what you would expect from a 125mm 8 megapixel camera.
                  But Xiaomi (or maybe it was Vivo) advertised AI enhanced moon photos.

                    for me is better to pick Samsung s20 or s20+ rather than this ultra crap … I have never liked the idea of pixel binning... better real sized pixels obtained by default hardware and no this crappy tricks …..

                      I wouldn't fault them for simply advertising 1920fps. This is about dishonesty, about the gap between your claims and your capabilities, not your capabilities.

                      Again, from what I could tell regarding the only comparison on YT(Mr.whostheboss), the quality was very poor, even by smartphone slomo standards. They still cut more corners for every frame of that 1920fps compared to the usual 960fps.

                      That applies to you. I'm fully aware what Leica's naming scheme stands for, by Leica's standard, that's not a "Vario-Summilux", with the precedence of "Tri-Elmar", Huawei's setups would slightly better pass as "Tri-Summilux" even though one/two lenses are slower depending on the model. More appropriately, it should be "Summilux-Summarit-Elmar", etc. And the fake FL is a separate issue, nothing to do with Leica, "'Vario-Summilux' label with fake FL" should be read as two issues. I clarified in the previous post.

                        I am aware that this is more or less the current trend, still, Huawei more aggressively advertised their interpolation-inflated results than Samsung did.

                        No they didn't, they put down the range of *equivalent* FLs, without due statement of that nature of their label. Previously they would even add "mm" to the equivalent FL which made it a plain lie, though at some point they seemed to have dropped that, adding ambiguity.

                          Although the price for the s20 ultra isn't justified it does take good photos it actually takes more natural photos than the iPhone which you can also see in that video selfie test too.
                          I think the fact that it's only 3-5% better than the note 10+ camera is because Samsung just has good software it kinda killed the p30 pro lol.
                          The p40 will be released and might defeat the s20 but then the note 20 will defeat the p40 and the mate 40 isn't based on camera as the p-series.

The others will be a bit better than last year, possibly few surprises there. Love the multiple shots/videos feature of the S20 though. Actually a great little feature. As for the 100x whatever, ever hands in at the reveal event was painful. They were trying indoors, in a dark scenario, and failing, consistently. Or, they go 100x at something only 10 feet away, I found that both bizarre, and telling. Clearly 100x is not supposed to be used that way. Pointless from the YouTube review brigade.

That's exactly the way how one should do it. Comparing it with Huawei's 3.8x or 3.7x zoom would be even more accurate. For some scenes 135mm is better, for other scenes 100mm is better. Comparisons should be nearly always at the same equivalent focal length.

                                    Gsma is not only tech site underwhelmed.
                                    AndroidPolice compared to Pixel 4. Photos,from Pixel look better in most scenes when you zoom in the results.

                                      Whats the point of comparing Samsung's 4x optical zoom & Huawei's 4x digital hybrid zoom!
                                      If you go by default then compete it against 5x optical of Huawei from the beginning itself! As 4x is default option for Samsung & 5x for Huawei in the camera app itself!
                                      Anyway Huawei P40 premium gonna demolish S20 ultra anyway!
                                      Its disappointing that even after taking 1extra year

                                      Samsung just barely outperforms (although in 5x and 10x they are equal) a year old P30

                                        It is downsampling like Xperia Z series.

                                        Downsampling from 40MP is way to keep details of 40MP, while file has similar size of a 5MP photo.
                                        Binning has same details of lower MP count.
