Why no zoom comparision with Xiaomi Mi Note 10?
I know Xiaomi Mi 10 doesn't have any periscope lens but still :-)

Also can you switch lenses durng recording on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra ?

I was expecting the S20 Ultra to blow everyone else out of the water with their extreme super resolution, high quality photos and then they're just 3-5% better than Note 1o+ which was pretty bad as well.

      Of course DxO is going to say it is 20-30% better.

            It's really hard to know the answer from the web unless the original files are provided to you (i.e. Youtube comparison videos might not be really that useful). As for now I would say iPhone 11 Pro produces more natural looking photos than S20U. Things might change in future though, so if you're about to buy this phone, hold that for now and wait until Samsung pushes out numerous software updates to further tune the image processing.

              Terribly disappointing to see the exact same plastic processing method as used on the S10. If it's a 1mp instagram camera you're after then this is the one to get but otherwise it's a failure. The hardware is clearly good based on the low light shots so hopefully GCam will sort it out.

                It makes no sense not to compare the night shots of S20 and Mi Note 10. One bins 9 pixels, the other bins 4 pixels. Aren't you interested to see if binning more pixels gives cleaner night images?

                    Yes for both devices, but it requires special signal processing called array conversion to do that.

                    Exactly. If the number of pixels on sensor is identical, Nonacell, which requires more aggressive "pixel-swapping" interpolation to construct full resolution image, fares worse than Tetracell/Quad Bayer in high-res mode.

I'm so disappointed to see this. Crappy Samsung again.. No improvements over the Note 10+. With that exorbitant price they should at least have made a 50% improvement..

                            Let's be clear, the only people who need concern themselves with the content of this sort of article is Samsung. The Note 10 and P30 Pro cameras already have mature software development, while the S20U is in its infancy. As Samsung make tweaks and fixes based on user and reviewer feedback, the S20 trio will get better and better. The key thing is that the hardware is capable and they're starting from a good position - there's already been a camera software update at the time this article is being published!

                                xxxedge, 26 Feb 2020Not impressed at all. Colors are way to boosted on Ultra...Me too - S20 Ultra camera quality is total garbage. It hasn't changed a bit since the shitty Note 10+ camera..

                                  I'm without words.. I can't even begin to describe how underwhelming and shitty the S20 Ultra cameras are.. There is not a single improvement compared to the shitty camera on the Note 10 Plus.. The so called 100x zoom is useless and the 108 mp sensor is total garbage - The Xioami 108 mp photos are infinitely better, clearer and more detailed than S20 Ultras shitty photos.. So disappointed with Samsung which continues to produce shitty cameras.. I'm so happy I didn't preorder this useless phone. Thank God! My old Galaxy S6 (16 mp sensor) still takes better and sharper photos than both Note 10+ and S20 Ultra.

                                  So I'll buy the 11 Pro Max or 12 Pro max instead. Samsung I hope your S20 Ultra sale will be a disaster - you deserve that with the overpriced piece of crap you made..

                                    Curious to see against s20+.
                                    Imx555 is the most modern Bayer sensor made for mobile so far.

                                      The S20 Ultra (as well as the S20 and S20 Plus) can do way better by simply re-writing their Computational Photography Algorithms. They can improve detail, dynamic range as well as noise.

                                        Is it in any way possible to turn off pixel binning and take higher resolution photos (e.g. 108MP) in good lighting conditions? If the answer is yes, it will be really interesting to see samples in your full review!
