Currently own a pixel 4 note 10 plus and lgv50 with dual screen, each phone is used for something different, but my main and favourite is by far the V50 the audio quality using Bose QC 35 is absolutely mind blowing, the use of dual screen is amazing never stutters or slows absolutely blows the other 2 out of the water for most things, when using business PowerPoints I use the note and for the camera, the pixel I use for when I'm cooking with its little mini radar chip, but everything else the V50 and I can not wait for the v60 to be released

I wish LG removed that thinQ name.. Sound weird. Bad luck since G7

    Lg optimus V60 sound better

It's a package with pros and cons, and the main attraction is not the audio, but in the Dual Screen case. I own LG V50S and it's a head turning device!
Nothing comes close with it's practical implementation, you can attach or dismantle it anytime...

No other device has this unique feature, just look at the unboxing of V50S by the Verge or Android Authority. This phone is underrated.

Come on GSMarena, this isn't really much of a hands on review! Definitely only a first look.

And it's like 200$ or less nowadays. Is there anything else worth upgrading? I think not! It is a VERY disappointing update.

1080p is a stab in the back! VR is dead. We'll see if a camera at least is an upgrade from v30. Disappointed.

If main camera is top notch, then telephoto is not as needed as some are crying about. Handset will be same in perfomance than all others with this SD 865.
It has 3,5 audio jack, seems to have excellent sound ... FHD or QHD...Ppl get a grip already. You cannot expect long battery life and all the consuming screen does, so i think either QHD and lower battery endurance or FHD higher battery endurance. LG's were all about QHD, in fact LG was one of the first if not the first who used QHD and ppl went and nagg about battery life.

I think 70% off ppl would take this phone if it had 110h endurance, than someone else QHD with 90h endurance. It will be even cheaper because of that.
Albiet it seems to me that SD865 itself is quite expensive soc and dicatates a bit of price.
All handsets with this SD865 will be over 800 EUR for sure.

no doubt its a flagship by specs , but not by the looks and design☹️☹️Ugly

"But is it enough to persuade potential buyers? As always, the answer is no"

What kinds of words is these? Leave prejudice aside. The buyers will decide, not some subjective opinions. These words is at least not fair.

                          is this "the phone"??

LG "flagships" depreciate and lose value very rapidly. They are considerably overpriced when new - what with odd feature set and horribly slow upgrades to OS. But about 18 months after introduction they can be found at remarkably low prices on Ebay and other auction sites. Only then do they represent decent value for the money.

Overall - not just phones - LG is an odd company. Very odd.

Maybe just a few like Juan Bagnell, High Tech Reviewer that still have balanced tone and appreciate the audio prowess LG been doing consistently for years..

                                All others, not so much.
Above statement just represent majority try to kill off LG with their harsh words and gushed away potential buyers.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2020FHD resolution shouldn't really be a problem, it is still s... moreI own LG V50S and when dualscreen attached, the battery runs fast.
I can understand the reason LG put FHD Resolution on this too, because the 5000mAh battery has to feed not one, but TWO power hungry 6.8" screen!
                                  So that's that.

Having said that, I do think you can see the difference bettween QHD and FHD screen while reading tiny text, for example this GSM Arena site.

I put side to side my LG V35 and V50S (which I just bought yesterday), and I rightly can see the sharpness and blackness of the characters. The ones on V50S looks dull compared to my V35, and my eyes used to QHD screen already!

But the brilliant Dual screen makes up for the shortcoming and I happily trade QHD screen for unique experience and sufficient battery

Why didn't LG use Omnivision 48mp sensor which is 1/1.3". We dont need 64 or 108mp camera. Other thing is they should have at least included 90hz screen. Plus the phone should have been smaller(6.5" max). But LG will continue to be a fringe player in smartphone segment. They can neither complete with Samsung at Flagship nor compete with chinese phone makers for budget flagships.

Daveotti, 26 Feb 2020Agreed about UFS 2.1. All Flagships uses UFS 3.0 at the moment UFS 3.0/3.1 doesn't really have any real-world benefits yet. Like including 16GB of RAM on a phone, the cost ultimately outweighs the benefit, even if you're futureproofing your phone
