RishiGuru, 02 Jun 2020In my eyes all these 500+ posts between Sony fanboys & ... moreYeah that's the result, when a lot of haters praise other brands on a different brand review. I don't know, GSMArena has done a verses article and virtually everyone here hasn't used the phone yet they'll like to be the first to share their "experience".

This Sony Xperia 1ii is for a person who doesnt has an actual camera, relying purely on it for photography & videography while being a smartphone at the same time.

RishiGuru, 02 Jun 2020In my eyes all these 500+ posts between Sony fanboys & ... moreSony never aimed at "regular" consumers. Regular is subjective term though. Media consumption and camera tweaks definitely will make this a special smartphone. I'm pretty sure 9 out of 10 DSLR professionals will tend to buy this Xperia 1 II rather than Samsung or LG or iPhone. This is their main target customers and of course long lasting sony fans who wants to upgrade their current Xperia like me.

RishiGuru, 02 Jun 2020In my eyes all these 500+ posts between Sony fanboys & ... moreI agree with you here.
But just imagine Sony fans will give up this battle and only bad comments will remain. So your wife will have more reasons to avoid this phone. :P

Thank you , haters .....
Your en... moreIn my eyes all these 500+ posts between Sony fanboys & anti-fanboys resulted in an epic worthless battle with no end. This is what happens when an immovable object (Sony fanboys) hits an unstoppable force (anti-fanboys).
As a result it will again be Sony which will suffer from this rage as general consumers will not understand these technical jargon's & their measurements going around here and start playing safe by not opting for Xperia 1 II.
Today morning I just asked my wife to read a few posts going around here and what her non-technical brain can come out with is ... there seems to be a lot of guys who says the phone is no good .. I will better stick to Samsung or a LG.

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2020haters want 800 nits, then complain about burn-in. they fo... moreLol that's just to do with a bad patch/defective panel and won't represent the quality of the rest. I've yet to hear a single burn in report from tens of iPhone X/XS/11 Pro and Galaxy S9/S10 users around me. I've been using my S10 and P30 for over an year now, and no burn in whatsoever on either of them so far.

Android Master, 01 Jun 2020P40 pro messes up color in low light through telephoto.
P4... more"messes up color in low light through telephoto"
Tell me how it exactly messes up the colours then. Or alternatively, I kindly suggest you to take a look at GSMArena's long-term review on P40 Pro and update your knowledge on that.
"low bitrate producing artifacts especially in low light"
That's actually not related to bitrate but is rather to do with the CFA Huawei uses for the sensors (RYYB) and the phone's tendency to boosting ISO when the light is scarce. In return, you get more evenly exposed images with better details out of the footage than the others as the lighting condition gets worse.
"those guys are reliant on Huawei"
Who are known to be pretty good at fixing the camera-related issues through software update?
"smaller FOV with Ultrawide camera"
But on the other hand you get unparalleled image quality, so that's really up to your personal preference. I wish they will increase the FoV to 15-16mm equiv, but anything wider than that, I don't think I will find it comfortable to use, since unless they come up with some sort of special black magic technology, very wide FoV = leads to stronger distortions and less consistent sharpness across the frame (with more noticeable corner falloff, too).

P4... moreOh really? Tarek Bay, the same guy reviewing Xperia 1ii said P40 Pro are the best camera in 2020 at the moment. - https://youtu.be/WxQ6UKT3gIo
Of course Xperia 1ii still waiting for that final firmware build. Would like to see how it turns out. Xperia got the upper hand on manuals, P40 nails it on Point-and-Shoot.

JohnW1981, 30 May 2020I thought that was weird also. Haven't they previously said... moreYes, they used to say this, which is correct though. My request was that they only do the test for phones with 3.5mm jacks... which means no dongle review.
Actually, Phones vary vastly in audio quality, with LG flagships excelling the charts and matching dedicated players to phones like Doogee, Redmi Note 2 which give dismayal quality....
So, their propogation is factually wrong. I don't like to talk so much in open, but they don't even reply to mails. What choice are we left with? Let the lie spread while I watch?

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2020haters want 800 nits, then complain about burn-in. they fo... more800 nits is necessary for use under bright sunlight. And your screen won't get burn in because people usually use the camera or google maps when they are outdoors. The screen content keeps changing so little to zero burn in risk. And it is not like you leave the screen on continuously for 10 minutes while taking a photo or navigating.

For a phone brand that people rarely used anymore, Xperia models this year sure receive a lot of attention this year. I did not expect a lot of people posting in the comment section this much.
