Sepfian, 02 Jun 2020And will blow ur battery correctly? It is double piece battery so it charges 32-ish watts each which is okey. Regular top phones charge at 40w :)
Also battery is the cheapest and easiest to replace. Especially with plastic rear back door as find x2 pro

I don't use 65w to save battery life long term, but I have it per needed in extreme fast situation. Your xperia 1 mark 2 don't have these and other things like 4K or even 3K :) Don't = less. Except for Apple :) Which is not.

      Come on haters , let's make to 600 ....

Smithravi, 02 Jun 2020Sony never aimed at "regular" consumers. Regular is subject... moreAfter reading the GSMArena review on Sony Xperia 1 II, I found nothing exceptionally good or bad about this phone. To me it seems just like a regular Joe flagship same as any other flagships from Samsung, LG & Huawei.

As I prior said, I am brand neutral and just refuse to accuse GSMArena of not giving the Sony flagship a proper justice in terms of review content. I have seen many Sony fans are saying so. If I could have been a Sony fanboy I might have said so.... but then a Samsung fanboy will say the same for the Samsung reviews... and so on...

I feel the latest flagship from Sony is mostly photography oriented with two dedicated apps for use mostly by photography professionals. I am not a commercial photographer.. this phone does not appeal me that much. I cannot comment whether professional photographers will buy this phone for its manual capabilities... because the last time I said so to one of my friends who happens to be in media & a top level commercial photographer .. he just stared at me for a minute and gave a big laugh... I never dared to raise the question again.

geek-a-contra, 02 Jun 2020really funny these endless complaining and doomsday warning... moreIt will not sell because of both price and the fact that Sony phones have been selling poorly for years now. They made a good phone but it can'[t compete with all the other brands putting out good or better phones. This is why people believed that the price would dictate everything here. And it will.

Xperia 1 II 4K recording from stock camera app can record easily over 1 hour
After 65min one of the recording functions seems to be disabled but 4K recording continues over 80min

really funny these endless complaining and doomsday warnings about "will not sell because of price". guys, get your numbers straight: in 2019 the sales, by price, are equally distributed, some 33%, between the under 500, between 500 and 1000, and over 1000 euro/pce groups. the people here on gsm, it seems most of them from india and other south-eastern asian countries, should not confound the prices/ wages levels in their countries with those from japan, s koreea, western europe, canada or usa.

Point of smartphone is portability and flexibility compared to a camera. If professionals want just a smartphone which does calling, texting and basic stuff, they will not even buy flagship according to your logic. Iphone, google and so on highly depend on computational photography. Means, AI will do everything what's good for you. Normal user might find that useful but not a professional who wants to post process. Yes for full pledged photography they will still use their cameras. But if they ever want to buy a flagship, they will definitely show interest in Xperia 1 II rather than any other. Reasons, everyone knows it, providing most accurate colours compared to competitors and 4K display.

Good review. Even if the camera is one of the best out there I doubt any average customer will ever spend more than 1000$ fot it. So this is a niche product. Offering niche products is great, IF you offer none niche products to customers aswell, OR if the niche product is so exclusive that it offer a benefit over any other regular (none-niche) product. To me at least sony fails at all fronts. The camera app is outstanding, but little of customers care about that, since easier apps take better photos for MOST people that are simply missing the knowledge of how to take a good picture.
So, only camera-pros will be able to get more out of this phone. How do you get those to buy this phone? Im not a camera pro, but if I were one, Id have a great 5000$+ camera with me and a cheaper and SMALLER phone that fits my everyday needs. Everyday needs, a so called "daily driver" has a camera that takes good snapshots without the hassle of fiddling about with an app. Which is not what sony intended to give the customer. What I get is, that Sony wants the camera pros to JUST use the phone for video and photography.

Im sorry for Sony, but I heavily doubt that the niche-people, those who are usually using apple phones just for the sake of having an iphone (they don't expect more and apple still got the "nice to have factor" that maybe only samsung has aswell), will jump on the camera-phablet train. What is really missing on the phone market right now is a compact-sized phone with outstanding battery life and great photo capabilities aimed at the average customer.

Big Battery Boi, 02 Jun 2020Duh. That's because they are, at the end of the day, no dif... morei think you are a little bit excessive here... during the day i simply do not have the time to play games. most matures / professionals have time for games only after they get home and then they have no interest in a crampy 6-7" display when they can enjoy a real +25", fast, high resolution screen....

RishiGuru, 02 Jun 2020In my eyes all these 500+ posts between Sony fanboys & ... moreI agree, but... let your wife read GSMArena posts on the flagship Samsung S20 series, and she will most likely never buy a Samsung ever again. LG did some decent stuff this year, there might not be that many comments that can scare her away.

Anyway, my point is that all posts on here are filled with haters and with people arguing that there are better phones because it doesn't suit their tastes. If you're gonna show a normal person anything, they will become suspicious. The best thing for your wife would be to ask you for the best phone for her needs, while you educate her that every year things change, that sometimes a good brand makes a bad phone and vice versa, even those brands she trusts.

Never preordered so fast in my life xD xperia 1 mk. II with the bundle goes for 930 euros here in Denmark :D

i believe the truth is somewhere between both of you and smithravi. imo this phone is aiming to the (advanced) enthusiasts who want more controls over the camera component of their smartphone. when they do not carry / have their regular camera on them... :) iphone or sony? i tend to believe is a matter of ios vs android and apple brand vs other brands preference. the price is not very important here as most of those enthusiasts can afford +1000 euro / dollar.

Shui8, 02 Jun 2020Nope. Most professional photographers in the whole world st... moreDuh. That's because they are, at the end of the day, no different from your average consumer.

Most photographers get an iPhone and stick to their cameras because they are clueless about phones but "know" that iPhone has a "best phone camera reputation" from the old days, while their camera already gets the job done and they don't understand that an Xperia 1 II can further improve their experience.

Just like gamers who "stick to their PCs/consoles" and just get a generic phone too, without understanding that if they had a gaming phone, they could incorporate even more and better mobile gaming into their lives (at least for the few decent mobile games exist so far)

Most of us GSMArena users, even when having different opinions, are capable of choosing a phone we want based on our own needs, but that's because we're phone enthusiasts. Which most photographers, gamers, and others are not.
