      In Bulgaria = 980 euros + WH - 1000X iii

TuGa121, 01 Jun 2020What 4k from gsm arena review nothing was 4k on this one lo... moreI mean i have to agree with u with this....Sony heads now a days only care about what sony said they dont see the test done by xda and see the phone defaults to 1080 and none of the apps actually run 4k except the camera app when u record 4k u can watch in 4k thats when the 600+ ppi come alive but all these people talk about is sony saying its 4 they thinks its always 4k......The 10bit hdr and finally getting oled they dont realize thats made by samsung.... 6.5 in (170 mm) 4K 21:9 (3840 x 1644) HDR OLED CinemaWide™ display , Samsung Super AMOLED, ~643 pixel density
        Gorilla Glass 6
        HDR10
        HLG
        10-bit color depth

Dont you people think that if 4k (real 4k) was really worth having on a smartphone giants like samsung would have done it already sont you thing they can do it easy if they make the panel from xperia think about it they have the phone ready for high refresh rate and 4k look at the specs look at the size of the bat now 5000 its common sense........

Is it just me or is the main camera's good lighting performance underwhelming? The center portions -- the money bills -- are soft and borderline blurry when compared to the S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10. The x-rite right panel, giant ABC, colored threads, cow and colored pencils are also blurry while the checkered star and checkered heart lacked details. It did have a clearer, more vibrant carrot and Spongebob but these are not even in the center of the photo.

Given the "special" sensor they used and Sony camera technologies integrated, I was not expecting the S20 to beat it this badly.

Although the 1 II did beat the S20 in the lowlight category even if it used 100 more ISO than the S20.

Anonymous, 31 May 2020And how much battery replacement costs, 20$. https://www.o... more"Lucky" you that lives in a country where you can get these replacement. I live in a country where we don't even get new phones imported, each one of us has to buy from outside and bring them in at very high prices. There is no official support here, that means no battery replacement for 20$.

I want a phone that can last me at least 3 years without having headaches and downtimes for replacements and services.

So yeah, I think this Xperia 1 II might be what I am looking for, maybe the 5 II.

Wongwatt, 30 May 2020And that's the problem! People don't want their phone to o... moreAgree. That's why sony is not aimed to be bought buy "regular" users. Pros here also doesn't mean people who are 100% professionals. The market they aimed is people who knows about how to use cameras properly (not those who just have cameras for style) and aimed to get the best pictures from their preference. Yes this phone won't sell to the mass market, but those camera users might want to consider this though. SO maybe GSMArena should revie it from 2 perspectives?

I would want.12-16 bits recording to deliver 10 bit HDR delivery, 14 bit plus for better 12 bit HDR delivery. It's also very very low data rates, and very hard to control in real time in a professional way, even compared to a pro Sony. Professionals regard these phone things as pathetic.

Now, as far as HDR display, that is another thing. Professionally you want people to have a pleasant experience. if you fed a high contrast scene into a 10,000 brightness phone screen, people are going feel pain looking at it. So they squeeze what they record down into a suitable brightness range.

Now, another thing is that the HDR footage is recorded in a shallow bit depth shaped. Yes you try mucking around professionally in post production, you can get problems where the image bands or adjusts unnaturally. 10-12 bit is the new 8-10 bit. 12-16 bits would help.

You don't seem to understand the visual system. What we see is not reality. The human visual system had multiple HDR biology to even out the look. The reality is much different. So professionally you have to even out the differences, so that a user on any sized screen sees an approximation of what they see as the visual system dynamically adjusts across the scene as you look around it. So, it looks inside it sees a kit scene, if you then look out, your eye adjusts to show you another lot scene, maybe more brightly lit. Even holding your gaze still, the mind dynamically changes contrast across the scene to even it out. So, a burned out local window often looks too unnatural compared to what your mind sees being in the room.

Now, that picture is not a great test. It's in a fairly open space, letting more light inn but in

I think the review totally missed the quality points with the content creation features in the game mode functions, focus pull, color grading, manual camera controls.
It isn't a review if it only compares standard features that other brands also have.

However Sony really need to do better with their Auto camera mode to capture the general consumer.

Netflix in particular served HDR10 but was capped at 1080p, and we were expecting 4K. We did get the UHD resolution on the Xperia 1 back when we reviewed it, though it's limited to FullHD now as well.

As for Amazon Prime, that remained in 720p.

YouTube, on the other hand, could go all the way up to 4K60, though the phone continued to report it's rendering in 2560x1096px.

Very rarely, absolutely very rarely displays run at that level. Pretty much extreme outdoor conditions in vivid display mode. Most of the time display runs between 400 and 500. I always suggest people to use manual brightness instead of sensor controlled because it saves battery, you always get accurate color rendition and most of it all you save your eyes.

I think these are among the VERY BEST detailed camera samples I have seen in the site. Amazing camera, not smudged and oily like Samsung's or OnePlus'.
