Great, nearly perfect phone to my opinion. Would love to have it for the price of OnePlus 8 Pro or Huawei P40 Pro. Whatever tech Sony put into this new phone, it isn't cost what Sony want for it by any means. Above mentioned competitors aren't far behind but better in many ways than Sony.

From my previous experiences with using many Sharp branded home appliances like air-conditioners and microwaves I admit they manufacture high quality products.

You won't find... moreit does heats up phone.
SD's quick charge stills works the same three level power control. quick charge is nothing but the communication between the adapter and phone to switch between the three power levels
5V x 2.0A = 10W
9V x 1.67A = 15W
12V x 2.0A (or higher) = 24W (or higher)
during the high power supply level phone heats up because high current is passing at higher potential to the battery and this heats up the battery. fast charging is still not recommended for frequent use and its safe to have a spare low watts adapter

Seems like a rushed review so many things this phone has that others don't that were omitted. You mention the fact that it doesn't have a high refresh rate screen which eats battery even while gaming but you didn't mention the heat surpression feature in the game enhancer unless you don't know about it cause you didn't spend enough time with the device. The final firmware should bring night mode and raw capture so why rush to bring a half baked review? Doesn't make sense and only makes a good device look bad.

Tazm0n, 30 May 2020how about to crop down for stabilized 4k/6k video or some o... morethat was the main reason 8k cameras were made, to frame, crop or stabilise in post production. but to achieve that you need two main things, higher bitrate and the sharpest lens.
there is a reason why todays mirrorless or dslrs doesn't go for the 100mp resolution even in their full frames because you need sharper lens to accommodate the higher resolution this is also critical for a good autofocus since on sensor phase detection auto focus solely depends on the sharpness of the lens (the main reason for s20 ultra's focus hunting issue). this is also the reason why medium format sensors with 50+mp resolutions are usually slower in autofocus and their single lens usually costs both kidneys of your entire family members and are not ideal for sports or action photography (also the sensor readout speed is slow).
coming to bitrate, without a higher bitrate (usually takes 1500mbps to 2000mbps for 8k video) even if you crop the 8k to 4k it will look like an oil painting. and then there is the rolling shutter, 33mp crop from 108mp sensor. so overal 8k in a smartphone is possible but impractical, unnecessary and pure stupidity .

I expected more from GSMArena. I know you're not just consumers who whine of price without paying attention to technology. Your review was a bit behind compared to others. The late post could have meant more time researching about Sony's integration of its technologies not just in camera but in real-world performance, gaming, usability, battery health, whole range of entertainment hardware, tv tech, cinema and audio tech. Kindly review your thoughts about the zoom of S20s. They capture shapes and shadows, make them bigger and sharper than call it zoom. Lol. A fan of S20s beautify? Also Sony was the first to use the 3.5mm jack in 1979, kinda old but not if you have an audio review expert. Do you know heat suppression? Latency issues in wireless earpods? Sarcasm is shallow without explaining the ideal benchmark. It just shows how S20s and Iphones limit people's standards.

So the battery life is bad, as you would expect with that screen. They just don't want you to know it. Xperia 10 ii will be the better buy.

... moreI agree. Other than 4K nothing in the display excites me. Color reproduction is not very accurate in Xperia 1 II. I am not from OLEDs are ALWAYS better than LCDs crowd, as I believe both have their pros and cons. Frankly I have found the best color accurate displays are almost always LCDs in smartphones barring a few very well calibrated OLEDs.
Just curious to know from your standpoint the best smartphone displays you have ever seen or heard of.
