What is your goal? To force a possitive opinion on someone? Why are you that desperate? It's just Sony, it's just a phone - I myself am an Xperia 5 user, but I do not see a magic dust anywhere.

    This comment section is amazing

    One one side, you have people who hate the device, they want Sony to file for bankruptcy
    On the other side, people who already pre-ordered one MK II for each member of the family

    I can't remember the last time a device led to such a controversy.
    Unexpected entertainment from GSMA.

    Anyway, it's a wonderful battleground !

      Otherwise, the last review of that "superphone" s20 ultra/extra/incredible are extremely negative...

      I sell and repair mobile phones... I know how many of those "well sellers" company products need fixing...

      Lucky you will not be able to get and use a Sony phone...

            Xzp marked them trying again. Xz1 was still a partial attempt.

              Now I understand why Sony smartphones sell so less in numbers worldwide.

Only recent Xperias (XZ2, XZ3 and X1) were flop in Terms of Sales. All other Xperias have decent Sales. Also Sony Smartphone Sales oevrall started decline only after Z5 series and not before like you mentioned.

They were not good and that's one of the reasons (not a single reason) why sales floppes drastically. From XZ Premium and on their phones are as good as they've ever been. XZ1/XZ2/XZ3 were rock solid phones for their time period not lacking anything unless you were a fan of S8 crapOLED screen and bezels really irritated you. Computational photography was at its infancy and it looked like a joke. XZ recordes video was unrivaled by competition. And so on.

                              The only reason and I mean the ONLY reason xperia phones are still around is because of brand loyalty. Sony has given up on good phones at about 2012-2013, ever since you *may* get the ocational good phone, but everything else is literally ways behind from everything else in the market of comparable price.

                              However the (sub)brand is inexplicably alive. It breaks down the free market mantra that bad products/brands go down and why's that? It is because free market theory applies to rational actors and a good minority of consumers are not that. They are in need of a friend/ally/person to call dad. And given that society failed them (and still fails a lot of people) they find it in the cold embrace of a brand (that *actually* thinks nothing of them). It's a bug of human psychology, no different than giving a fluffy toy to a toddler chimp whould make it think that said fluffy toy is a caretaker of his/hers. Our "fluffy toys" of choice are brands. It's not just a "stupid phone", it's mere existence is a manifestation of a serious drawback that our savanna grown brains have in this modern world (which is often exploited)...

                              I honestly hope that humanity would get over this phase (and we would know it when Sony or companies like Sony mobile are *dead* and charred) , because if not in a few centuries our toddler like brain will press the wrong button and disintegrate the whole pieces in a giant mushroom cloud. We are *that* close to that happening, and that's all because of the same mechanisms that allow Sony to exist.

                                No money reference.
                                We will wait for oneplus x2 pro vs xperia 1 mark 2 video by non-biased video reviewer and you will see less money (x2 pro is cheaper) and bigger default 512gb / 12gb ram will blow your camera away as well. Sorry mate.

                                    You don't have the device either. Most people don't. And most people are commenting after reading the review and watching other reviews.
                                    Not without knowledge base. Abs the sad part is I have to take that statement further to explain that DUH some people do... there will always be a few... but it's not the majority or main issue here.
