coyz, 11 Jun 2020that ugly notch destroys the whole specs of the phone!Totally agree. That broken screen was sent back for warranty service last decade and now is a sold as a feature!

    for the price of $1,700 and no GMS , no warranty ( U.S and other country that doesnt have huawei authorize store )i dont think it will be appealing to Western market ( mostly in U.S ) Im tempting to try huawei ( starts from P30 pro that last huweai made with GMS ) but still pricy.

Yes it’s big but so is the notch on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It’s big but not protruding, that’s the main difference between a notch and a hole-punch. In fact this is a step up from the notch from the P30 Pro, as it doesn’t have the biometric capabilities of the p40 pro and pro plus.

            ypcx, 11 Jun 2020so this 10x (8.5x) zoom is what, 10% better than the last y... moreDouble the maximum reach, far superiour intermediate zoom quality between 2x and 5x, and general image quality improvement (HDR, better noise reduction) are hardly what I would call "10% improvement". When it comes to zoom last year's P30 series won't even come close to this one.

                Seriously? The most versatile zooming capability is the breathtaking feature on this phone. It's also got a near-800-nit well colour calibrated display with dynamic refresh rate, 40W wired AND wireless charging, one of the best microphone array on a phone, better front and back cameras in auto and presumably longer battery life than Xperia 1 II. Lack of stereo speakers and Google Services are things that I agree with you on, and yes this phone is overpriced given what it delivers, but as for the rest of the points you've made you're being too harsh IMO.

                    Lets hope mate brings better lens and possibly jack. No phone can rival xperia colors though.

No manual control or features like X1 II. No 3.5mm or stereo speakers. Even display Xperia is dominant with 4K and colour accuracy. No breathtaking features like HS power control, Wind filter reduction, 20fps AE/AF. Even design is ugly with punchloe and same like 1000+ other smartphones. Compromise in google services, yet they demanding for 1400 Euros. Basically you are paying 1400 Euros only to get that super zoom details. I still don't understand there are bunch of other alternatives which are superior to this one. Yet it was rated 4.5. If at all any smartphone deserves 4.5 or above this year. Xperia 1 II is the only one.

They should settle with what's available and what's easy to market. Huawei is commended for their endeavors. Whether they were forced to go that way or willingly.
                                  It is also obvious from your comment that you haven't even tried to work a new Huawei phones. I would pick them over GMS anytime of the day.
                                  Plus if you really think that Huawei products are so useless and not worth trying, why did you go through the review and write a comment?

                                    Xperia 1 II is 10x better than this 1400 Euros 10X zoom smartphone. Why does it get 4.5 rating while Xperia only gets 4.3 ???

                                      I do not understand how people judge the beauty. This phone has almost same front design as Samsung S10+ which was rebuked for dual front camera cutout but now they says P40 Pro+ looks beautiful! For many years, GSMArena said they didn't like the curved display of Samsung for irritating accidental touch but with 4 side curves they have not found any problem with P40 Pro series!
                                      May be a bit biased towards Huawei?
