Still doesn't connect properly with Wear OS watches, which is massively embarrassing for an Android phone and particularly one that sells a "stock" feeling. When you buy a phone for its stock Android feel and you face issues of compatibility with other Android services, then this is a big fail.
Others have also mentioned other Bluetooth connection issues, like not playing nice with digital car keys.

"The size may or may not be an issue for you personally but the weight does tend to get cumbersome after holding the phone for a while." (Quotation from the article).

It certainly deserves a praise that the reviewer makes the case for lighter phones. This is an important point, as way too many Youtubers brainlessly repeat the mantra that heavy weight is good "because it makes the phone feels premium". That is complete bollocks. Tech has to be easy to handle, it is not supposed to give the illusion of luxury. If you want to hold on to some luxury item, get a Rolex, or a Patek Philippe watch. This is a piece of tech we are talking about (that will be nearly worthless in 3 years time).

But having said that, if you want to talk about weight, then you need to compare apples with apples. You complain that the OnePlus 8 Pro is heavy, but it has a 6.78 screen and is 199gr, versus Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (6.9 and 208 gr), Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (6.9 and 220 gr), and iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5 and 226 gr). The OnePlus is actually the least heavy of all these handsets and it does feel noticeably (very noticeably!) lighter than any of them. It is the main reason why I got it over any of the others. So OnePlus deserves praise for making the comparatively lightest big screen device available on the market, not criticism.

This is a very good review. Both the pros and cons have been thoroughly listed out. Those specific software intrusions you have mentioned are something which I have not come across in any other review. It helps immensely in making an informed choice. Good job. Keep it up.

Great smartphone fogged with display issues. Hopefully its resolved by now. Sales in india have been very poor as all reviews are filled with these issues and their service centres are not able to resolve customer complains. Now waiting for 8T pro to be nothing less than perfect.

Nicolas F, 07 Sep 2020> "Curved display is a usability nightmare" ... moreYes totally agree with you. I don’t know why are they even selling smartphones better to use their talent in selling bananas and peanuts. They should have made a phone which i should be able to use telepathically but nooooo they had to make class leading smartphone for general public. People like you and me are not made for this world. Lets to to mars together. I have already booked my tickets with spaceX. You should too book and leave this pathetic world with such poor smartphones around.

Curved and large screen is a usability nightmare? Since when? I'm using a large phone and never had any issues, OP8P is clearly marketed towards people who can handle a bigger unit just fine.

The curved display complaints are also extremely exaggerated. The amount of issues I had with a curved display is exactly zero. Yes I know this is anecdotal evidence but so is this entire review.

This is easily the worst gsmarena review I've read. You complain about subjective things, call them objective flaws and call it a day.

                  > "Curved display is a usability nightmare"

Oh really?! Finally you realized that!

                  > "Fantastic display"

It can't be fantastic being curved and/or hole-punched.

                  > "Uninspired design"
                  > "Premium design"

                  1) Lol;
                  2) "Design" (whatever you meant by that) of a smartphone don't need to be "inspiring" (or any other buzzword). Top priority for any smartphone is convenience.

                  > "Imperfect but unique"

Why "but"? "Uniqueness" is not necessarily a good thing by its own.

The device is amazing while using but have some issues need fixing. The temperature increase many times which is abnormal when you compare with other devices within the same conditions. In addition 5G network isn't working in lots of countries while we have paid for a 5G phone. I sold my device because of these issues and it's not fair to buy benefit we cannot use because oneplus is locking it
