I still have Note 4 and a Note 9 and they bright as ever and have zero burn in
Each to their own im sticking to Amoled
If im paying £500 or more it has to have a Amoled display

Chavis, 09 Oct 2020The Mi 10 may start at 800 euros at mi.com but it costs les... moreHaving had such awful experiences buying via Amazon in UK, especially for Xiaomi handsets, I'm only going to buy direct from Xiaomi when in the UK (where I'm currently stuck). If the price is competitive, I'm happy to buy from the manufacturer - as I did with the X3 NFC just recently. So far so good.
Ordinarily, I'm based in Singapore and Malaysia, where I just by very new used phones at huge discounts still with local warranty. Unfortunately, got stuck in the UK looking after elderly family during lockdown, so X3 NFC direct from Xiaomi turned out best bang for the buck (needed a much larger screen than my Pixel and my P30)...

No idea why people would prefer newer tech LCD like this 144hz HRR and sampling LCD and still prefers an LED panel. Its been around since 2008 with Nokia N85. I get that LED looks nice and contrasty but it is notorious and I mean really notorious for yellow tints, green tints, screen burn ins, black spots etc. These are all almost exclusively happens at LED. Plus the HRR tech on LCD is newer and new is almost definitely better

You basically need higher PPI on AMOLED to achieve the sharpness that LCD offers. It means that on the same size and resolution, an LCD would be sharper than AMOLED.

Not much difference at all with the normal low light photos. Throw in the GCam and you will see the significant differences. Night sight from GCam is so much better than the Xiaomi Night mode.

Yuki, 11 Oct 2020My note 4 still working too. I don't really understand... moreI don't know why but the lcd on my mi 6 or even redmi note 4 is far sharper than the super amoled on my new phone Mi 9 wich has a flagship level super amoled, I don't speak about colors or deep blacks but I can clearly see that it is less sharp than the redmi note 4( because I compared the 2)and even between my old mi 6 and my new mi 9 (I sold the mi 6 so I didn't compare them but I am sure it is also sharper) despite having about the same pixel density + or- 20 ppi
Can someone tell me why

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2020Yawn.... Do you really find poor camera software to be boring?
For me at least, the camera is the most important feature of a phone, far more so than the screen being OLED or LED.
And Xiaomi has decent hardware, but the processing of its camera apps is terrible, compared to Google or Apple. It smudges, it makes colors look "electric" which might be desirable by 12-year olds posting on Tik-Tok, but it makes for terrible viewing on a large screen. If you compare it to GCam, the Xiaomi stock app is a joke. Unfortunately, GCams have other issues, so there is no great solution for Xiaomi. If it wasn't for GCam though, I would have gotten rid of mine.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2020LCD died years ago on phones , soon on TV's too.Nice try 2021 will be flooded with miniled LCD TV screens from Samsung, hisense TCL ...
Apple is heavily invested in miniled smartphone displays
Dual cell LCD technology is coming to mainstream even more the hisense 65XS for example
Just imagine the highest color depth of any tv belongs to an LCD panel at 12-bits..
And we have not even started talking about nanosys and Thier newer color converters with Q-NED and the direction of the future for 10000 nits TVs

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2020It is LCD you are confusing in mith Microled. Mini LCD is s... moreBacklight is NOT what confirms something is LCD
Backlight is a SEPARATE part of the technology
TCL'S NXTPAPER has no backlight at all and it IS an LCD panel
backlight can be made of ANYTHING or NOTHING at all
Yes this includes using microled as backlight WITH LCD on top
This massive misunderstanding makes people believe that backlight bleeding and low contrast is inherently lower than OLED which is a lie as it depends on WHAT backlight is being used, is it microled ?a miniled backlight etc etc

Dissmising a screen based on the technology used seems a bit daft to me if you've not even used the thing.
Real world uasge is all that matters. The technology is largely irrelevant.
Saying that, I don't think I could go back to using a 60hz panel 🙄

Why on earth would I buy this over a OnePlus ? The trashy add ridden OS ? Xiaomi's bad international service (non existent) ? , Tradition of being unreliable ? Can live with that on a 250€ phone but this much AND an LCD... What are they smoking ?
