Oneplus phones are consistently only just below full blown gaming phones in the benchmarks.

The "side black bars become gray while playing hdr" issue is present on the 7t too. Can confirm

matuka, 18 Oct 2020I think this is my next phone, I'm buying a OnePlus 8T... moreThe 8T seems like a no brainer if you live in Europe. Though the Mi 10 is around 560€ and it's a better package overall. I haven't decided yet. Either one will be quite an upgrade from my 3T. And at least OOS doesn't come with the same bloat that oneUI still does.

matuka, 18 Oct 2020Well in my end of Europe the 1+8T is 599€. And the SGS20 FE... moreWireless charging is nice to have but not an essential feature. I find fast wired charging much more appealing as well. In my region, the 8T is 625€ while the S20FE 5G is 750€ while having 2gb RAM less. I can get a regular S20 for that price which is much nicer overall, even with the Exynos.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2020Qi charging can be with plastic and carbon fiber too. I know.

matuka, 18 Oct 2020No reason to get the 8T rather than POCO F2 Pro? Lmao... 60... moreGood on you then bro, get it and do you, all the best!

pufanu, 14 Oct 2020In Europe, the SD 865 S20 FE costs €100 more which gets you... moreWell in my end of Europe the 1+8T is 599€. And the SGS20 FE Exynos (4G) is 679€. The FE 5G with SD865 is 849€. How about that for ya. OnePlus wins :p at least for me... Yes faster charging. Also, I have S9+ currently and I don't like wireless charging much, I never charge wirelessly. Gimmick. Give me a beastly (probably fastest in the world right now) wired charging any day of the week.

r33fd, 14 Oct 2020When a Samsung phone is mentioned as a better value for mon... moreIndeed. Although in all fairness, Samsung has significantly stepped their game up when it comes to mid-range, as of late. OnePlus has raised their prices, "slowly but surely". And I would say OnePlus is still better than Sammy in some ways, it just depends on what you want and where you're located.

Coolboy, 15 Oct 2020Only in india Rest of the world mostly this is slightly o... moreNo, not only in India. Also in European countries. It's only slightly overpriced in the US as far as I'm aware. 599€ for this phone is good. S20 FE is 679€, just like he said about Indian prices.

I think this is my next phone, I'm buying a OnePlus 8T 8GB Aquamarine Green with a Karbon case very soon. Only 599€ in Europe. Good battery life, good camera (admittedly a weak point but good enough), insanely fast charging, big and bright 120hz screen, great fingerprint sensor, superb build, great speakers, good software support, competitive pricing, Android 11 out of the box. And of course top of the line specs with SD865 etc. I don't mind OOS 11 going in the direction of OneUI, I have an S9+ currently and OneUI ain't bad. Just need it to be clean and fast. I'm returning to the OnePlus family, I had a 1+3 back in the day and it was great.

The S20 FE seems great as well but it's a bit more expensive and the FE 5G is even more expensive! The 8T hits that sweet-spot between the Nord and the 8 Pro. It's a shame that Americans only get the 12GB RAM model which is 749$ and ROW gets the 8GB model at a lower price point. Yes, I would LOVE a better camera and an IP(68) rating. However, it's not necessary! The OnePlus 3 didn't have an IP rating yet you could submerge it in water with no problems. In any case, no need to fight. Just buy the best possible phone that suits your needs in your price range and REMEMBER that prices & availability vary around the world!

Also, wireless charging is kewl but my S9+ has it and I EVEN got a wireless charger for FREE with my S9+. As a freebie. Yet I never use it anymore! It's a gimmick feature to many of us! Nice to have but nothing amazing. I'd rather have the 90hz/120hz screen

jason88fr, 17 Oct 2020In other words, there is no reason to get this instead of t... moreNo reason to get the 8T rather than POCO F2 Pro? Lmao... 60hz vs 120hz screen, 30w charging vs 65w charging. Sure, no reason KEK. Both are 599€ where I'm shopping. I'm sure the Poco phone is great, but I think I'll go with 8T personally.

In other words, there is no reason to get this instead of the POCO F2 PRO unless you really want 12GB RAM.

The POCO F2 PRO maxes out at 8GB RAM but it makes up for that 4GB extra that you won't need to use really for a few years, by having LPDDR5 which is not only more efficient but has a higher data rate.

I really love OnePlus devices but I honestly believe the 8 series was low effort in that price range.

Is seems like OnePlus has lost it's way lately. They were generally a very good (maybe not quite awesome) phone at a fair price. Now they offer an expensive phone with downgraded capabilities such as camera. Also the removal of their own custom Phone, Contacts and Messaging Apps also makes me wonder what their plans are. I'll have my 7T for a couple more years probably. At that point I'll see what out there. The Samsung S20 FE looks compelling at this point. If OP can get back to their roots they'll be on the list.

md shahin, 16 Oct 2020price True. Hi already have the 8pro but I wouldn't have bother to go for for 8t. Quite same specs and I mostly use main cam as most of the people so who cares. But the topic was about cam so I give my opinion. I don't mind about IP ratings, wireless charging and all these stuff. Depends on the people.
