OnePlus 8T review

Gsmarena states that the 600€ price range is overcrowded yet they only suggest two competition smartphones. Galaxy S20FE is fine but in Europe if you pick the 4G version that is pricier (659€) you Exynos which is a no-go. Don't know about the Mi 10 pro, but it's an LCD screen, should be a solid choice though. As for the Pixel, they are probably very good too but they have a smaller screen which is good but only if you don't want a bigger screen. So I'm still looking where the competition is and what are the real alternatives.
In other countries it might not be as competitive (especially in the US where you only get to choose the 749$ 256go version) but in Europe this is a no-brainer if you're looking to upgrade from an older model for a max budget of 600€.

Yes that SnapDragon 875 chipset is exciting, I hope it's awesome. Can't wait to get a 1+9 or some other great phone in 2021.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2020Solid phone. The cameras are fine imo.Cameras are fine from a 2019 perspective.
Cameras from 2020 flagships are way better than this.

matuka, 21 Oct 2020Good review. In all honesty I would go for this phone if I ... moreThere won't be any OnePlus 8T pro.
They'll launch the OnePlus 9/9 Pro next year.
Infact this is the worst time to buy a new flagship Android phone.
Snapdragon 875 devices are just around the corner. You'll have to just wait a couple of months for them. The performance boost with the big X1 cores is worth waiting for.
It's funny how Xiaomi and Samsung launched their flagships earlier in the year at an expensive price tag.
Six months later, now that Snapdragon 875 devices are just around the corner, they are launching the budget variation of their flagships at a reasonable price.

It is not categorically stated by the company that the phone has a dual 5G standby mode; simply stated as
5G.Any different?

Good review. In all honesty I would go for this phone if I was to upgrade from my S9+ right now. I might just wait for 8T Pro/1+9 (Pro?). My S9+ is still doing OK and about to receive its last major update with One UI 2.5. So I'm not in a mad rush to get a new phone.
My wishlist for the 1+8T Pro/1+9 is as follows=120hz(+) screen, 10GB(+) RAM, improved camera with a new sensor (+telephoto if possible, no useless cameras), IP67/68 certification, 4800(+)mah battery with battery life that is better or at the very least equal to the 8T, same premium build, max 750€~ in Europe.

A bit embarrassing, I would've expected to have slightly more battery life and performance over the S20 FE 5G , i don't care about how fast it charges, it kills the battery and i uusually charge at night I would've still bought the 8T over the S20 FE but the camera department is simply mediocre at best and even the last year 7T has a better setup.

It's the same price as last year's iPhone 11. The OnePlus has a better screen, but I don't think it has a better camera. However, the iPhone will receive software updates longer than the 8T, which makes quite the difference for me.

Unnecessary device.
OP should keep 2 flagships only.

Either one of those 3 (8T, MI 10T Pro or Galaxy FE) is a good choice. Me personally would go with the 8T because the MI 10T Pro has an LCD and for me it's OLED everyday. The Galaxy FE 5G is 100 more and the 4G version comes with a Exynos 990 instead of the Snappy 865 that's a no go and only 6GB of ram vs 8GB ram with the 8T.
