The problem with Iphone 12 and apparently with Pro model too is worse camera performance than 11 pro (photos + videos).

Bradley Lewis, 02 Nov 2020Yeah I’ve heard all of that aswell. Think of you use the ph... moreYes, should be the gaming performance that is an issue, like PhoneArena discovered (not TechArena, sorry for typo). It is really strange because my iPhone 11 manages through most games pretty well despite running on iOS 14.1 (this build has a lot of performance issues and bugs in the first place). I've also found a bug where the screen dims even at maximum brightness, but normalises when phone is turned back on. I had no issues during my 9-10 months of use before iOS 14. iOS 13 was a lot smoother. Didn't matter if iPhones have poor cooling solution or whatsoever, but it was just way more optimised back then with no battery drain.

Hope the launch of iPhone 12 Pro Max can fix these otherwise skipping it. Anything can happen to the 12 Pro Max. Forget the mini, the mini is going to be a serious bottleneck in the long run despite the small form factor. I'm hyped by the sensor-shift image stabilisation and better cameras.

MrHung, 02 Nov 2020Yes, that is strange. Based on what I found, while understa... moreYeah I’ve heard all of that aswell. Think of you use the phone for more intense 3D games like call of duty mobile you will really notice the overheating and battery drain. I mainly use apps like Instagram, YouTube and TikTok so it’s been quite good for battery life from my experience. I normal have about 5 and half hours screen on time without a mid day top up. I think it is either a software issue or an issue with the processor as it is the first commercially available 5nm chip so there could be issues with that

The iPhones photos will look different to the huawei or pixel or Samsung but which one you prefer will be your choice but what you can’t deny is that which ever phone you go for at this level you won’t be disappointed with the photos it takes

Bradley Lewis, 02 Nov 2020Yeah definitely, I’ve only noticed my iPhone 12 get warm wh... moreYes, that is strange. Based on what I found, while understandable that iPhones have poor cooling solutions, the iPhone 12 throttles more than the iPhone 11 (Pro or not).

Based on what I've checked on TechArena, the gaming battery life on iPhone 12 and 12 Pro is just half of the iPhone 11. Looking at Youtube gaming performance, it's as if both my iPhone 11 and Samsung S20 FE 5G both performs better than the iPhone 12. A search on Reddit suggests that there is a serious software defect or a badly designed chip architecture. The newer chip seems to utilise a stacked motherboard design as well.

While I don't use Antutu for benchmarks, it's strange to see iPhone 12 GPU weaker than the one in iPhone 11 in Antutu.

Aside from throttling the iPhone also has a screen flicker issue, but that appears to be a rarely reported case. Thermal throttling is still the most widely reporter issue in Apple's forum.

I was excited for the iPhone 12. Now not anymore. Glad I have not preordered an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I'll stick to my iPhone 11 and S20 FE 5G. Though I love the finish in the iPhone 12, the build quality is impressive (I've tried it in store).

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2020Cant remember last time i used supplied earpods, or charger... moreTrue. Think my iPhone XR charging brick is still in the box and I have AirPods so don’t really need any EarPods in the box. Would have liked the fast charger in the box though, it does seem abit sour when companies like xiaomi and oneplus are shipping 65w and 120w chargers in the box and apple only has max 20w charger and you have to buy it separately. Good thing about the iPhones charging though is that it can charge at 20w from any usb c brick that supplies at least 20w where as those other phones require the specific brick and cable

MrHung, 01 Nov 2020I think Apple also releases a bad batch of iPhone 12s and r... moreYeah definitely, I’ve only noticed my iPhone 12 get warm when fast charging but mine is perfectly fine for normal usage. I don’t play intensive 3D games on my phone so don’t know how that would affect it but I’ve heard that that causes overheating and battery drain

iPhone 12 could have been a perfect phone only if it came with a stronger battery. This is one of the biggest con of theirs but otherwise the phone looks really nice and power packed.

I think in terms of features Apple iPhone 12 has done a pretty decent job. I do wish that the RAM would have been better considering the price of this phone.

You are used to the iphones yellow and saturated colours. Iphone has far less fine details than huawei. And trees aren't looking like trees , looking like water painting. Cant remember last time i used supplied earpods, or charger, its been years. Got a wireless charger stand on the desk, an usb-c to lightning cable in the macbook pro, and a usb charger cable in all my cars. Wireless headset and airpods pro. Thinner box is good, got a drawer full of old iphone boxes that i need to throw away, it not awfully many but they are too big, its a real problem, the missing accessories are not.
