The plastic back only makes replacement marginally less expensive. Note20 replacement costs are of 98CAD, Note20 Ultra is 113CAD. Prices include labour but not taxes. 15CAD is just a little bit over 10USD. It's not worth it.

The wide angle and ultra wide cameras seem to have the worst image quality due to the very soft edges.
But yes, the "10x camera" doesn't look very good either. This has to do with the processing, but further reasons are that the "10x camera" is actually not a "10x optical zoom" camera. For example optical zoom increases the focal length by the same factor. The 1x camera has a focal length of 6.7mm, so a real 10x optical zoom setting would have a focal length of 67mm with the same sensor size. But the focal length is only 30.6mm. That's the reason why it has a smaller sensor.
Furthermore for a completely lossless (!) 10x setting, not only the focal length needs to increase by the same factor, but also the quotient of focal length and f-number. The main camera has a quotient of 3.72mm. So in this case a completely lossless 10x setting would need a quotient of 37.2mm = 3.72cm (the camera would be extremely large), but the quotient is just 6.25mm.

The sample photos taken from both S21 Ultra and S21 look worse than Xiaomi's stock camera app photos. And keep in mind it's a super expensive smartphone.
I really can't wait for the new Pixel 5 pro or any new Pixel that will come in the future.

Samsung Mobile would need to order a variant.

Check samples from phones sold in 2013-16.
None of them look like wax.

If you told me these photos were taken by s3, I would already be disappointed with the results.

Personally I would rather seen as follow..

                      S21+: 50MP Main Camera(GN1), 12MP UltraWide & 10MP Telephoto(3x optical)

AnonD-973296, 19 Jan 2021super center focused cameraYeah. Center of images looks good - but this is so narrow field, like excellent quality for 40% of image. Rest is crap. If you took a look for example the straight lines etc looks fine. But without texture or details. So this comes out of poor lens quality and so so processing. Hope it is not lens quality - that won't fix any updates!

Samsung seriously needs to up their game with camera quality. I honestly hope they do a significant firmware update before release. I really don't want to withdraw my order on Ultra.

Edge sharpness of wide and ultra wide is just terrible indeed.

I just looked at the exif data of the periscope camera. It captures approximately 95% as much light per time from distant objects as the periscope camera of the P40 Pro Plus, but the light of an object is distributed over approximately 18% more pixels, so theoretically the potential in low light can be lower.
18% more pixels per object won't capture more detail due to diffraction. Actually the 8 megapixel P40 Pro Plus periscope camera should have a very small advantage regarding diffraction (details from distant objects) , theoretically 0.027x more lossless zoom is possible with P40 Pro Plus as focal length/f-number is 1.027x as large.
In perfect light conditions Samsung's periscope camera should be able to capture approximately 18% more light per frame from distant objects than the periscope camera of the P40 Pro Plus.

Woow, what a terrible picture quality !!!!!

It would be nice if at least the unlocked version in the USA had dual SIMS (especially given the memory card has been removed), or a single SIM and an eSIM. Unfortunately, it is so far impossible to figure this out as Samsung does not apparently want its customers to know since this information is nowhere I can find.
