Don't speak as if you know me very well. I bought an LG V50 and Huawei Mate 20 because they are flagship-grade phones that still have offline FM Radio support and I still hear it all the time to this day. Just because you don't listen to FM Radio doesn't mean the other 99 is the same as you. It's okay to be blissfully ignorant, you just don't have to show it publicly. 🙃

YUKI93, 16 Apr 2021It's a real shame that this year's ROG Phone does... moreWhat the real shame is, are the people that seem to always find something to complain... Radio my a€€. I can bet that you are listening to radio on the phone once in about a year. But hey something to complain. Well if there was the radio givin, the next complain would most probably be: ei, this is not DAB radio, what a shame, oh wait, it also does not have an IR blaster and is not water resistent, what a shame. Also has no lights like Nothing phone, shame cause i like them. The battery should be 10000MAh for a gaming phone, and what a lame screnn, should be Super amoled, like samsung, with 250hz refresh rate. And what's with that Cpu, it should at least be Snapdragon 8 gen 2 even tough is not out yet. And only 16 GB Ram?Devices this days have 32 or 64, it does not matter which ones, what matters is that there are some, so this one should also have this much needed RAM. But the worst thing, is that it does not come with a pup-up camera and gaming buttons, i mean com on! Ah i forgot what this phone was i was complaing about? Get a clue people and a dosage of life, is worth looking into it. As for no radio bla bla. Buy one that has, is not like asus forces you to buy this one without a radio...gosh...

Went to service centre and they said have to change the motherboard but just in one year 50000 rs phne is gone what stupid thing. Shame@Asus

+ Excellent all around phone for gaming and daily use. Excellent design, very sharp, masculine. No notch or punchole!!! Large but thin, fits nicely in the pocket. DC dimming - no eye sore due to AMOLED. Excellent system (Zen UI) on Android 11 with tons of options and personalizations, not seen on any phone. That's the reason i use Asus for years. Absolutely amazing sound, if not the best of any phone. It blows you off. Huge battery. LED light, double charging port etc. Performance shouldn't even be mentioned. It's more than enough even on lowest TDP. Great all around phone.
- Lack of OIS (excellent pictures in daylight, medium to mediocre in low-light). I know this is a gaming phone, but pairing IMX686 with an optical image stabilizer would have made for great picture experience all around and make the phone attractive to non-gamers and other enthusiasts and power-users as well, allowing it to better compete with Pixel, One plus and so on). After all, it is a must have on a phone at this price.
- Super-sensitive screen (a plus for gaming, but easily reacts to unintentional and accidental touches when not.
Android 12 update is an abomination.

I'm an avid gamer but also a Photographer. While almost every phone is working on improving their cameras these days, it's really sad to see that Asus has done nothing about it. I can live without those stupid lights at the back but I was seriously hoping for a Google Pixel level of camera for this price. I don't care about the Mpix but the image quality and video quality is the king. Unless they offer a flagship level camera, Asus has no right to ask this kind of a price for this phone.
It's still not a complete package and needs a flagship level main camera, telephoto camera, Oxygen OS and better color accuracy out of the box. It's good to see a 3.5mm jack and better screen color accuracy though. The previous gen was a disaster.

Who ever plan to buy this phone better rethink it again... worthless phone, bought a new unit but sim card not detected and finger print is not working. Waste of money!!!!

Extremely disappointed with the phone. I've lost all my love on the product and trust on Asus.
My phone 5 is in service center now (second time though). Switched off on its own and won't turn on.
In case if some users aren't facing issues, they are either lucky or worst is yet to come for them.

Kug, 26 May 2021Bruh we dont need it.You don't, but I like it when I have no data connection.
People have different needs and that includes gamers.
I don't need the fan accessory for example.

Can anyone that owns a ROG 5 confirm that you can change the bottom USB-C port’s default functionality (via USB debugging) so I can connect it to my DJI drone controller & still use the primary side USB-C port to output video to AR smartglasses like the Epson Moverio BT-40.

Kug, 26 May 2021Bruh we dont need it.Jokes on you, I do. A lot of regional radio stations can't be accessible using online Internet radio. Also, YUKI93 is right about online radio using a lot of data, I also experienced similar situation. No more online Internet radio for me unless if I'm using WiFi.

"Upping the resolution would have meant more power consumption, a greater strain on the CPU and GPU, potentially lower refresh rate and average frame rates and higher input lag"
How are you going to be writing articles for gsmarena and not know that you can simply change the resolution in display settings????
They could clearly give a QHD panel and let you change it to 1080p. Or even default it to 1080p like samsung does.
