Great to see Asus finally stepping up from the horrendous ROG Phone 1 and 2 (with build quality issues). Asus has started to pay attention to software recently. I however, wish Asus improving the cameras. The ROG Phone 3 had average camera quality, comparable to a lower-midrange phone and the 5th hasn’t changed. As for SD888, we can only see the CPU throttling test (this is worse than the SD865) but still OK, whereas we have no idea about the GPU side.

If the prices go right down and provide at least decent service and aftersales support (which they don’t currently) I might consider the base version over some overrated Xiaomi phone to replace my S20 FE 5G. The iPhone might stay.

        Did the phone stop working??
Android 10 is thousand times more functional and better than competing ecosystem which gives updates for 5 years but in reality dumps decade old features as "new"

All the haters who slam Snapdragon 888 for thermal throttling are nowhere to be found.
ROG is part of a premium ecosystem. Asus delivers yet again.

Wish I can push up on the Asus 5Pro or Ultimate I'd replace my Note10Plus for sure.

But unfortunately because Asus is so poor with software updates and it's Asus Rog3 still has Android 10 in March 2021 I'll pass.

Keeping up with updates is vital especially if I'm going to replace my Note10Plus that has Android 11 with OneUI 3.0 and 1TB of storage.

Asus has to get it's act together they are losing potential customers who are knowledgeable about how they are conducting business especially from an software standpoint.

This has lowest latency screen on the market, you can't say the same about Mi 11 which has 480hz touch sampling rate.

The camera is not justified the price ... Even for vanilla rog 5 ... I will consider this if it is price at $700 or less ....

But with that huge battery and charging time.. it is really impressive.. the Quad dac and front firing stereo are really my main consideration.

The sampling rate of 300Hz is not industry-leading but Asus claims the sampling rate itself does not guarantee you anything. They say they've tweaked every bit of the system to deliver an industry-leading low touch latency (the high sampling rate is only a part of that).

Wooooow Rog Phone 5 is here

For this price (800-1200+ euro) camera should have been among the best available today (since it exceeds the price of S21), not just "average".
I know this is a gamer phone. But being a gamer doesn't mean I don't take pictures or I'm ready to pay through the nose for... wait, was there something, like, absolutely stunning about this phone, other than the price? I've seen better specs (partially) in other, mostly cheaper phones.

They should've at least put OIS into the camera, and the latest, greatest camera module. That would explain some part of the price, at least.

Not a bad phone at all. Even the camera wasn't terrible (positive we'll get a GCam port in a month or two since it's too similar to the ROG Phone 3).

Going to wait for the Xperia but if they fail, I wouldn't mind nabbing the ROG Phone 5 pro. All those charging and display customizations are almost too good to pass up.

                          Am I missing something here?

This review says industry leading 300hz touch sampling rate...

                          Xiaomi mi 11: 480hz
Red magic 6 : 360hz multi touch and 500hz single touch
                          Iqoo7 : 1000hz

                          Is "polling" sample something different???

Also the batter life on this sucks
