I'm considering buying the ROG phone and i'm not a gamer so i'd like even more a phone with similar specs but cooler/less power hungry SoC (And lower price LOL).

          The ROG Phone 5 (and maybe another gaming phone) Proved that the Snapdragon 888 is only suitable for gaming phone, i mean its heat could only be managed by extensive amount of cooling system which is can only be found on gaming phone. maybe all the sleek smartphone should opted for SD 870 instead, i mean if the user don't game on smartphone, so the SD 870 is enough for everything.

                      WOW what a beast! Great battery for such a powerful chipset and big screen; amazing speakers and amazing 3.5mm jack sound, one of the best and biggest screens. I've never been interested in a flagship because they are mostly fashionphones, but this one might actually be worth the money!

                        QUAD DAC?! Audiophiles rejoice..

                          [deleted post]Asus is a Taiwanese company, duh. I don't see how praises for this phone can be possibly considered as "Chinese favoured comments".

                                the bypass charging technique in this year's phone is what i call innovation

                                in case u did not know- so lets says u r playing a game, but ur battery is low so u plug it in. now when u charge a phone and play, battery usually heats up quickly, but Bypass Charging is a technique where instead of charging it, it will literally power the entire phone until u stop playing, its GENIUS! i hope more companies follow suit, and the charging limit was also smart...

                                    so it seems all their optimizations around latency they weren't able to quantify or maybe their is no industry standard for those other areas to present like a benchmark

                                    So they highlighted one characteric/metric i.e touch sampling rate (300hz) and just lumped all the other compiling contributers as "others"

                                      Old ROG only got one update lol. How long will this one be supported?

                                        TECH--BEAST, 11 Mar 2021It heated up too.. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️Every phone heats up.
                                        This didn't overheat, instead... It gave great sustained performance, which is what it is supposed to do, being a gaming phone.
