Go on Apple or Samsung sites, you'll find similar level of complaints.

wongwatt, 11 Mar 2021That's already on the Sony Xperia 1 ii - HS Power Control. Both are inferior technologies.
Oppo Super VOOC charging is even better.
It hardly heats up when gaming or using the phone.
Premium fast charging tech right there.

Sony's solution is a workaround solution. Their 21W solution is in the category of low quality fast charging and cannot handle heat build up due to charging and using the phone at the same time.

And still using FHD+ Display? What's wrong with the OEM? While most of Chinese OEM using QHD Display for the Flagship phones. Or this one isn't the Flagship one?

AnonF-778115, 12 Mar 2021FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTEREST IN BUYING ASUS BRAND PHONES (ESP... moreI think Xiaomi is still worse on this. Yes Asus did have these issues, and I can recall the burnt motherboard issue on the early ROG Phone generations (QC issue), but this is actually slowly improving. I tried the ROG Phone 3 hands-on and it was OK overall, the camera is a bit poor though. Unfortunately it’s rather expensive here...

FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTEREST IN BUYING ASUS BRAND PHONES (ESPECIALLY THE ROG PHONE SERIES)

                      SUGGESTED :
                      Choose another brand smartphone !!
Stay away from or avoid buying ASUS brand phones (especially the ROG PHONE series) !!

                      REASON :
The ASUS smartphone division, especially the software team : is weak, unreliable and can not be expected !
Can be seen or checked how the complaints or problems that emerge alternately are continuously complained by its users on the official website of ASUS or in the forum and internet groups.

                      EXAMPLE :
The most common case or complaint is actually after software updates. Instead of being smooth and stable after software updates actually it becomes unstable and problematic.
Like : hangs, freeze, battery runs out quickly, fast heat, likes to live my own dead or everything. Please check the truth !!

                      Just suggestions and sharing..

Does anyone expect a 16:9 phone nowadays?

why its only 16/256 to 18/512 in the ultimate? they should've given the 16/512 for the base up to 18/1TB instead in the ultimate

Even outside of it's gaming capabilities. It seems like a decent phone for power-users. Snappy performance. Great battery timing. Decent camera experience. Good multimedia experience thanks to a flawless display & crisp speakers.

The one thing it should have but doesn't is wireless charging support. Hopefully they'll add it on the next version.

The camera will never be better in ROG Phone, you know why? Zenfone.
It's nerfed on purpose you see. Every other brand does it in favour of their premium series. But I get it, they have to cut corners somewhere. The extras that ROG Phone 5 packs don't come for free, you might say that other phones at same price have better cameras, but this isn't a camera centric phone. The other phones cannot do what this phone can do, and those things come at a price, and you can't simply say you don't want those things since you only play Among Us. As someone who uses phone camera once a month, this phone is perfect. But I don't game that much so I don't want to pay for the premium features too that this phone offers.
Gonna wait for Zenfone 8. Hopefully they launch it this time in India.

I hope they solved the main issue for using a PHONE which is bad call quality, I bought the ROG 3 and the call quality was so poor that no one can understand me nor can I understand them, I sold it after 2 months, it was great device but bad PHONE

It works as intended and is surpriaingly good. I would liken the experience to having force feedback on a steering wheel controller. Of course, not nearly as pronounced, for sure. Sorry I didn't go into more detail, but there is just SO MUCH to cover about the ROG Phone 5. :)

true champion perfomance 👌 well done asus 👏

If only they treated the software update better and less skinned crap I would jump on this. But the history of updates is very very bad.

Bigmeme, 11 Mar 2021Quad DAC alone makes me wanna buy thisYea same here. I'm tired of mediocre speakers and lack of 3.5mm jack (I never buy anything with those two problems), and this not only has a jack, but best possible sound. Speakers seems to be the best ever too. That's what make a phone unique and attractive, along with the great battery.
