There you have it. After 2-3 years of 'close collaboration with the Sony Alpha team', that's disappointing.
Whether you wish to pay the Sony brand tax premium and buy this really depends on how hardcore a Sony fan you are. If you really want it, I recommend waiting 6-12 months, expect a significant price cut before the end of the year.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2021Love how Sony fans on this forum can twist cons into pros i... moreA 7.5W charger is laughable... there is no excuse there... however if it was me getting this phone I wouldn't mind too much since I already own a few chargers that are more powerful and I would welcome this one as a secondary charger for something else, such as headphones, mice, controller, etc.
Again, it is not an excuse, but what's even more laughable is buying a 1200~1500$ phone such as Galaxy S21 Ultra or iPhone 12 Pro Max and not getting any charger AT ALL.
I actually have an Xperia 5 II and it came with a reasonable 18W charger. And since I have set it to charge only up to 90% most of the time, it will do it in under 1.5 hours from 0%. Most of the time I plug it in at 30~40% so it reaches 90% really fast. No complains there, and the battery life is fantastic.
