The screen's resolution of this phone is not 4K. It's 3840 x 1644. A 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160. People call it 4K for the sake of convenient. If you play 4K videos on this phone, they will be scaled down to 2923 x 1644.

Of course battery isn't going to be the key selling point there. Efficiency just depends on the software optimisations and every phone has some sort of heat management these days so no big deal. Heating is a common issue for every phone these days. The sd 888 isn't exactly known for its efficiency either so can't blame Sony. The battery itself isn't the biggest at 4500 so can't really ask for more. And at 1300 with FREE CHARGER And WIRELESS EARPHONES is a pretty good deal. Don't forget the COD points. Certainly better value than fruit phones

Its the best in the i... moreIt's most likely that 4K120fps video is recorded at 2160p so 1644p "4K" display on Xperia cannot play it back natively, it has to be downscaled at first just like on other phones with a WQHD+ display. Also I'll gladly take extra 350-400 nits of brightness over more pixels on a tiny mobile phone any day.

Battery life? Screen brightness? Performance/heat management? When did I ever say I only have a gripe with its camera?

Its the best in the industry actually, something only Sony has managed to do so far. Also shooting content on 4K 120 FPS and also being able to view it at the same resolution on a device is a feature only the 1 III has. So look at that first about the phone before ridiculing it just cause it's camera isn't good enough for you

III has some serious issues with the lens quality *as well*, that's why the upper left quarter of the frame is noticeably blurrier and I decided not to talk about it in my previous comment so that I could concentrate on the issues related to its post processing only. The shot in comparison chart is perfectly on focus - the centre logo isn't soft at all, and the colour patches, the two brushes, the colour bands, the beads or even the heart-shaped knitting at the bottom left corners are properly captured without any sign of blurriness. And the phone is clearly struggling to deal with fine textures and specific types of detail patterns (in this case a lot of diagonal lines show pixelation artifacts), you can't simply blame it on the AF system and call it a day.

Sure, but it must NOT have anything to do with depth of field. The human/animal eyes must be on exactly the same focal plane as the rest of the frame like in this chart, because what you're claiming is the eye AF (somehow) got tripped over trying to capture the chart which has no sense of depth whatsoever. Though even then that would carry barely any relevance in this topic because Xperia's photo in the comparison tool is, after all, focused accurately as I already stated above.

Otherwise, if it was any sensor or lens issue, no area of that studio photo would be perfectly clear and sharp, but all would look smeared out, with usual bokeh blur artefacts. And it would most certainly translate to real world samples.
"Unfortunately", arena never tests these features of eye nor object tracking autofocus with real use samples. We get only street building scenes and portrait mode samples.
I can post some 5 II samples of real use eye AF photos with same certain area only focus if you wish some more proof of my claim.

Ok all flagships with the snapdragon 888 need charging daily due to its heat and poor efficiency. My OP8 beats the OP9 which has a bigger battery. If you dont believe me compare 865 devices against 888 ones. Many cant break the 100hour endurance rating while mine has 119hr endurance. It has good gaming times too.

Im really happy with the snapdragon 865 in my OP8 12gb ram. The ram is overkill as ive found out... Would have been fine with 8gb ram. The new exynos chip with amd graphics seems to be beating the upcoming snapdragon 895 so im very interested in the S22.

If the phone actually failed to focus on the studio comparison chart, not just some fine textures but literally everything would appear blurry, which clearly isn't the case here given that the centre of the chart is perfectly in focus on Xperia's shot.
