I just don't get it even in the last 4.5 years. Haters hate Sony just because of the compromises that will set them back be it in a large scale or not when they don't even own a Sony phone. You do know that out of the millions they manufacture, there will be some defects. Even if they owned a Xperia before and admitted that's it's bad defected or not, then why for phones without headphone Jack and Micro SD card slot when they actually need it.
Hypocrisy fans!!!! It's like ppl don't deserve the essential features on a phone that they need it.These bunch of ppl will be responsible for the exit of Sony smatphone market.

So:-they put a 6.5" 4k display on the phone instead of making a bright display that we can see properly outdoor
-the battery life is bad, the charging takes almost 2 hours
-the stereo speakers don't change orientations, I don't see this as a good, they're forcing us to use the phone in only one landscape mode
-among SD 888 powered phones the performance is not the best, yes it has the feature to power the components and not charge the battery but gaming on the go is no go
-the basic camera app doesn't do a great job, the pro camera app is too complicated, the average consumer won't have time to play with it, they just want point and shoot
why is the HDR so bad in portrait mode?
I heard some YouTuber say that we can't switch between lenses while video recording, is this also the case in the Pro camera app?
This phone is not for the average consumer, it's for camera enthusiasts and brand loyalist, it doesn't worth 1300€ in my opinion, maybe 1000€.

Better performance on paper while having throttling & no battery life improvement? Same camera with dual telephoto (lousy quality, better dont have it). To be honest, the price difference is huge but the differences are near to none.

All these so called "tech" sites giving this phone 4 stars I'd say 4.9 outta 5 watching real ppl review the phone on youtube. Only gripe is maybe the front camera but my mark 2 has a decent front cam. And the price is a little steep. But it comes with 200 dollar headphones so that softens the blow. Battery life is subjective. Nobody is gonna use 100percent brightness all day. I getta whole days worth of battery from my mark 2 I hear the mark 3 is a lil better. If I'm gaming hard then it drops battery but that's expected of any phone

It does 4k 120hz.
It has dedicated X1 mobile chip to render 4k 120hz.
Many other reviewers already tested this.

500mAh battery capacity increase from Mk2 Xperia 1 and yet no significant improvement for the battery endurance rating? It looks like even Sony couldn't tame the Snapdragon 888 heat, it really is literally a hot beast. I definitely love how Sony can still maintain the same image processing algorithm with the same realistic colour and detail as last year's model, but I'm going to stick with the Mk2. At least last year's model is now obtainable for around $700 to $800 thereabout.

I just have a wish for Sony to :
1. Make the ultrawide to 12mm so it can capture wider
2. Improve the selfie camera hardware
3. Make a dedicated average consumer auto mode camera app with good software processing on photos and videos so you don't need pro mode everytime
4. Make an option to drop to 1080p or 1440p resolution or have an smart switch
5. Give an 90hz option to save battery and get smoothness or have an smart switch system
6. If it could, i hope price could be lower (it is impossible though)
Other than that, it is perfect

No matter what product Sony makes and market it will leave you with your appetite !! They always have been behind the rest of electronics manufacturers !!!

I checked Android Authority (yes you read it right) and rated the iPhone 12 Pro a 4.5/5 stars. Except the regular iPhone 12 which is just 4/5.

I used the Xperia 1II for 3 weeks and liked it very much. I expected more with the Xperia 1III, but I admit being a little disappointed. But I will buy it anyway.

Studio shots look poor in both good and low light. The focus looks uneven across the frame. The Zeiss branding looks like it's for show, if they provide this kind of lens performance.

Sony tried but failed pathetically with the Xperia 1 iii.
