Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G review

Personally don't mind the limited battery life. What will likely be the deal breaker for me is that the outside screen needs to be much more usable then simply checking notifications (I have a smart watch for that). If Samsung can develop a means to type on the outside screen for some of the more common messaging apps (Hangouts/Messenger/etc), this would be a huge win. I forsee many ppl looking at this and thinking about the amount of times you'd have to either keep opening the device or keeping it unfolded just to stay in the loop if you're actively communicating with ppl

If I had $1000 to spend on a phone, I would've definitely buy this Z Flip. The price is right.

I only see it during mobile gaming, couldn't even tell the slightest difference at all when doing web and social media browsing. I like the addition of water resistance, but its effectiveness is yet to be proven for real. As for the chipset, 865+ is more heat-efficient than 888.

I think Samsung has done a very good job of this. It's a very well engineered piece of kit.

Tommy, 20 Aug 2021Absence of Samsung Dex at that price is my deal breaker :(Ikr. This phone has a flagship-grade chipset, so Samsung DeX should be a must-have feature.

For a phone with the same Adaptive 120Hz screen as in the Galaxy S21 or S21+ but with Snapdragon 888 chipset and 3,300mAh battery capacity on board, 69 hours of battery endurance rating is not too bad. But because of the power-hungry chipset and high screen refresh rate, I begin to think that last year's Z Flip 5G sounds like a good buy since it still has the exact same battery capacity and wired charging rate as this Z Flip3.
