Weird both Vivo and Google decided not to use GN2. I guess that sensor was too big. I wish we had someone besides Xiaomi using GN2 and forthcoming GN3.

The x70 pro plus is worlds apart from s21 so you can't put them in the same bracket. 8k video is extremely niche, for everything else Apple is the king in terms of video quality and transition's. In day time photography they are pretty similar but at night the vivo is undefeated with better shadow detail and exemplary highlight control. Overall the v1 chip is what sets it apart from the rest.

solid phone but born dead due to launch calendar. s898 phones(with android12) are arriving in 2-3 months and anyone who's going to buy a new flagship can wait for a couple of months. besides, x70 will have 2-3 major android updates and the first one will be android12. if you buy an upcoming flagship with s898,it will come with android12 out of the box with additional 1 android update compared to X70.

It's literally wishful thinking to assume that the Vivo X70 Pro + or S21 Ultra are on the same level as the Mi 11 Ultra. Samsungs images are terribly overprocessed... whilst the Vivo isn't too far behind... The Apple 13's can more or less compete with the Mi 11 Ultra only as far as video is concerned... But in terms of absolute detail at pixel level - You can clearly see the Apple is a bit "smudgy" ... And forget about Apple... In terms of 8K video nothing comes close to the Mi 11 Ultra... There is absolutely no overheating or anything like that whilst taking photos or video... The only real problem the Mi 11 Ultra has is battery life... Its just average... nothing more.
For the guy that talked about the P50 "Pro" ... Considering Huawei is on critical life support... It'll be good if you went out and bought a few Huawei devices... If for nothing else atleast to infuse a little momentum into a company that literally went from hero to practically zero...

I'm very sorry to see the camera reviews of Vivo X70 Pro+. This time here isn't nothing specific to give this phone 4.5 stars.
Specially I watch Clock fitted in clock tower, but this time this phone has failed to detect perfect color and tone in this section completely.
I'm pretty sure that you have made a mistake while giving this final result.
I'm your regular and ardent reader of your all the reviews and I read all of your articles.
And I've been reading and observing your each and every activity since 2012.
I've noticed many times that you did several over rating and sometimes underrating few of devices.
So please be neutral in whatever you do.

YUKI93, 24 Oct 2021Snapdragon 888/888+ is always prone to overheating under in... moreWhen not using copper cooling and using cheap material too cool it down, I've course it will throttle when reaching 50% threshold, even s865 was not on full max speed, even if it was will blow your @rseee . X1 cores are very powerful, similar Nd even performance too Intel i5.

Vivo X70 Pro+ arguably has the best Low Light/Night mode photography at present. Daylight images might be on par with the Samsung and Mi Ultras and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Ofcourse in Videos, 13 Pro Max has a huge lead over anything else.
But the Zeiss lens makes a genuine difference, especially for light flare situations. Even a direct shot at the afternoon sun shows a difference against other cams.
There is no doubt that the X70 Pro+ is probably the best shooter out there, all things considered along with 13 Pro Max.
S22 Ultra and M12 Ultra could edge them again though next year.

Any plan to get the X70 Pro+ and do your own review, since you said not trusting GSMarena anymore because comparing the Vivo to the Mi 11 Ultra?

GSMArena should test out the SuperRAW, from what I have seen it combines frames at different exposures and spits out a single RAW file that is much less noisy and has a wider dynamic range. It seems really interesting and definitely is worth being included in the article.
