I've literally owned all those phones mentioned and the vivo edges all of them for picture quality and realism, the HDR algorithm is ridiculously good. The mi 11 ultra has the better sensor but the software is not optimized at all, the phone completely overheats when taking photos and as such it has worse battery life then the vivo even with 5000mah battery. The iphone still has the best video by far though.

                HutHutHut, 23 Oct 2021If you have the Mi 11 Ultra you'll know that without a... moreyeah...xiaomi and photos...really??they did not do anything about software for years!i bought 2 xiaomi phones for their camera reviews and sold them in 2-3 weeks.so don't tell me about xiaomi and cameras!you can put a 300 mpx camera on a xiaomi and still an iphone with 48 will do better,or a samsung or a vivo etc.

The iPhone 13 Pro's , the S21 Ultra and now the Vivo X70 Pro + aren't really in the same leage as the Mi 11 Ultra --- period. The Mi 11 Ultra consistantly pumps out class leading image quality from all 3 cameras irrespective of lighting conditions... AND there's a sence of realism to its photos that no other camera phone on the market can match... Look at it like this -- The S21 Ultra and Vivo X70 Pro + are Jacks of all trades and masters of none... The iPhone 13's aren't Jacks of all trades and definitely not masters of any... The Mi 11 Ultra is a Jack of all trades and the undisputed master of them all... Wait till the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is released... It'll sell out in a flash.

                      So, essentially a Galaxy S21 Ultra with weaker camera and lower price tag. Since Galaxy S21 Ultra in my country is already at 1027 eur, it's hard to justify that the X70 Pro+ is only around 100 eur cheaper.

                        As there's no background apps or the GPS is on when not in use.
                        If you have any tips, please let me know.
                        I'm afraid if I use the QHD resolution, the battery backup will be even more worse!

I'm looking to get a new phone to upgrade from my Mi 9T. Both (Mi 11 Ultra, Vivo X70 pro+) seem very similar in most things. The only shortcoming I find with the ultra that I don't find with the Vivo is the lack of a short Telephoto. Have you had problems with pics at short zoom ranges?

                            Nick Tegrataker, 23 Oct 2021I'm not quite sure what's "ironic" abou... moreFor a phone with LTPO screen, I would expect to see the X70 Pro+ at least to have a much better battery endurance rating than the X60 Pro+, which doesn't use LTPO screen. Never mind the Xperia 1 Mk3, even the X60 Pro+ with smaller battery can do better in terms of battery usage. At this point, since Vivo never put HDMI ALT aka MHL support on their phones in the first place, I may as well just save my money and buy the X60 Pro+.

                              i was shocked when i noticed as well at the end that Mi 11 Ultra is mentioned as GSMArena's reference for bringing best photo quality. Don't get me wrong in theory Mi 11 Ultra has probably the best camera sensor's available but due to its software the photos that come out are not always better than other competitors like S21, Vivo X60/70 Pro, OnePlus 9P, iPhone 13P etc.
                              Perhaps Mi 12 Ultra will become indeed a reference as Xiaomi tends to commit all the software fixes in the next model.

                                Those are the only shortcomings of xiaomi smartphones, but I can certainly say the software has gotten better

                                        hi res is not so great, but be it binned or not, definitely better than standard low res sensor.
