The Sony Xperia PRO-i is for professional photographers and videographers not for ordinary point and shoot kind of people, if you're willing to learn photography and go all the way to create breath taking photos and you have the patience them the don't is for you, cus it will give you dramatic results more than the iPhone, but if you don't interested in going far in learning photography, the iPhone is for you cus it depends so much on computational photography.
You can't have complete control on your iPhone when it comes to art in photography but the Xperia PRO-i will give you that power.

Daylight photos are underexposed by 0.2-0.3 EV... Strange...
Hopefully they'll correct this in production unit or SW upgrade.

That SD888 is a power hungry oven. You simply don't need that chip for a phone that is primarily focused on its camera. The 4500 Mah battery doesn't suffice for the exclusive features the phone offers. To use it as an external monitor or for continuous use of 120Hz refresh rate on that QHD OLED screen and 5G connect, it is gonna take a serious toll on that 4500Mah battery. if you could use the phone for 4-5 hrs, I'd be glad. Sony Xperia 1 III and 5 III seriously struggles in the battery department when compared with 1 II and 5 III. Sony could've dropped a 5000 Mah battery and downgraded with a power efficient chip. "For a failed smartphone, it always had a weak battery to begin with"

banamana, 26 Oct 2021OMG... That low light comparison with the iphone is like ni... moreDid we see the same photos? iPhone beats Pro-I in pretty much all areas except color accuracy (I assume).
It is the same old story, good hardware, piece of sh*t software. I have Xperia 5.2 myself so I know what I am talking about. If you take several minutes to adjust the manual controls you might get photos that compete with flagships. Auto app? Forget it. You will get better photos from a last year's midranger. Sony does not respect software engineers and it shows.

"will definitely remain one of the company's hallmark smartphones" - wow. Kudos Sony. If I can afford it, I'll be standing in line.

moo, 26 Oct 2021Remember when you thought 1000 was expensive for a phone? ... moreAssuming you are talking about euros I say that's still too much money for a phone, Sony suggests this phone is not meant for normal consumers but professionals, but I think very few will be attracted to this.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2021Zeiss is for the lens. When people don't know what they're talking about and are here just to hate. When was the last time you saw a Zeiss sensor on a phone?
Oh wait never, cuz they make lenses, not sensors.
