I must change my eyes, I thi... moreOh, I'm not referring to those smudgy photos taken in auto HDR mode, of course (I'm assuming it's a bug since auto HDR shots and non-HDR shots look pretty much identical apart from detail level). 16MP photos with HDR off resolve slightly higher details than most 12MP shots from other phones, while 64MP mode is practically unmatched when it comes to foliage rendition. Very impressive.

2. Mtk socs are far cheaper than sd
3. Undouptly mtk is faster thna alot of sd chips for same price.

Mediatek captures value segment of the market, their processors don't beat qualcomm flagship but performance/ features are close while price range is cheaper than qualcomm's 2nd best.
E.g. dimensity 1100 has similar performance to SD 860 but adds 5G on top for same price
And Dimensity 1200 has cpu performance close to SD 778 & gpu performance close to SD888 but phones are priced cheaper than both.
G70, G80 & G85 are unbeaten value, Kirin 710/SD665/662 can't come close. SD675 has overheating issue and nowadays g95 devices are available in same price range as SD675 while performing close to SD720 / SD 730G.
Exynos doesn't have a midrange processor and their entry level 8 A55 core processor is beaten by potato chipsets like g25.
The only kirin processor that's actually better even than 732G is Kirin 810 but without google play, no body wants it.

Pros:
1.Not full fledged stereo speakers(rather hybrid ones) really are one of the loudest in budget segment and sound quality isn't too shabby either
2.The display is good though I'm gonna mention the cons in con segment
3. The battery is outstanding
4. The daylight photos in 64mp mode is better than some of phones in budget segment
5. Has the essentials such as sd card hp jack etc.
6. Is a good phone for the large hands market in phones(7 inch+ phones although this is almost 7 inch)
7. The helio g96 cpu is pretty good for this price.
Cons:
1. No ultrawide cam
2. The helio g96 gpu is weak
3. The heavy weight might be kinda annoying for some.
4. The night photos arent good at all.
5. No 4k recording

Those auto HDR pics are worst I've seen in long time (look at the grass and foliage, it's total mess). And things get only tiny bit better with HDR off. But in 64MP mode camera acts surprisingly well indeed (still, grass and foliage).

The main camera is surprisingly good with excellent detail rendition in both 16MP and 64MP mode (albeit unappetising colour reproduction). The latter mode, in fact, reminds me of Honor View 20's AI Ultra Clarity Mode, the images contain a bit of noise but there's a superb amount of details especially at the centre of the frame, which I'm assuming they achieved through super-res image stacking like what Huawei does.
Interestingly, even a very minor OEM like Infinix can implement such mode with ease yet all big companies (Apple, Samsung, Sony, Oppo) are still struggling to do the same on their most expensive flagship phones.

Finally the oem that use omnivision sensor ... They're good actual in default state especially the WB & color representation.

Great review. Hope you get around to the Zero X Pro too. These are the kind of devices we really need reviews on, where spec sheets dont tell the full story.
