Anonymous, 22 Nov 2021I also want to add that phones like the Huawei Honor View 2... moreCertainly I wouldn't mind a high resolution mode on the Pixel 6. Although I'm not sure how practical it is for everyday photography - guess it requires very good light and stabilization - like a tripod - to get good results? Guess its a matter of time - either from Google or at least 3rd party.

But frankly in your examples I fail to see a significant quality difference. I mean sure, the compressed lawn photo that's supposed to come from Pixel sucks for sure, but I'm confident its not representative of the general photo quality from this handy. Seems very bad overall. Maybe digital zoom was used or some such.
The examples from other phones - I fail to see something special about them. Frankly seem pretty mediocre when zoomed in. Perhaps my eyesight is not as keen as yours.

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2021Not really explainable why there is no high resolution mode... moreI also want to add that phones like the Huawei Honor View 20 (see fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/reviews/19/huawei-honor-view-20-handson/camera/gsmarena_014.jpg )
, the Asus Zenfone 8 and also the digital zoom of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro (see m.gsmarena.com/flagship_camera_comparison_fall_2020-review-2202p6.php )
are able to leverage the Quad Bayer high resolution mode. It's weak that Google ignores the high resolution mode.

I'm not saying that Pixel's noise reduction is not too aggressive... just saying that most other phones are even worse at that.

The Pixel 6 camera uses far too much noise reduction, just look at the tree of the second last iPhone 13 Pro vs Pixel 6 low light comparison.
Or look at the edges (the lawn) of the first Pixel 6 daylight sample image (not from the iPhone 13 comparison), that's not due to the lens. That's the main reason why I returned the Pixel 6 Pro.

Throttling might only be an issue if you care about resource-hungry games. Personally, I don't.

makatiPL, 19 Nov 2021In Poland I can get now Pixel 6 cheaper by 50 USD than OP 9... moreYou mean the base Pixel 6? Of course it is cheaper than Oneplus 9 Pro, I mean it should be. After all, the Oneplus 9 Pro is faster (refresh rate, performance and charging) and better cameras. But if you really care about cameras, then Pixel 6 will be a better choice as it's camera to price ratio is way better. Also, if this is the case, then Oneplus 9 is cheaper than the Pixel 6, which may justify its price, but only if you need that fast charging and fast performance. And if you mean the Pixel 6 Pro is 50 dollars cheaper than Oneplus 9 Pro. then yeah the Pixel 6 Pro is the better choice, as it does everything for less.

There's another difference: the non-Pro (at least from Google's own store) doesn't have the mmWave 5G modem.

I guess 1+ 9Pro has better looks, screen and charging speed.

Regarding the noise reduction of the camera: There are also some cases where the raw files are ruined despite perfect light conditions. Possibly due to moving leaves. But actually, that's no excuse because I never noticed such issues with the HDR+ On mode of the Nexus 5x and I took hundreds of Nexus HDR+ photos during soccer matches and the 6 Pro captures more light per time than the Nexus. The light conditions were perfect, the 6 Pro chose an exposure time of 1/3000s per frame.

What's disappointing is that there are no high resolution modes and that Google even ignores the high resolution mode of the sensors.
And the Photo Sphere mode of my Pixel 6 Pro doesn't support the periscope camera. That's a missed opportunity because it would have been possible to stitch together four periscope photos. This would give you a 52mm field of view with a pixel binning resolution of 48 megapixels (192 megapixels, if there was no analog pixel binning) with an effective sensor size of more than 120mm² and an f-number of 3.5. I have already done something like that with a travel zoom camera.
