I just did not understand how the price went up from $ 1200 to $ 1700

this makes me think about a google foldable. Wish had done the same thing pixel 4a. A pixel 4a dimensioned foldable with 6000 mah battery and pixel 6 pro chipset n cameras could beat this and samsung phone easily. As ultimately the software is equally important on a foldable if not more (than hardware).

The Flip, 23 Dec 2021Yup. But even Xiaomi and Huawei ripped off iOS for many yea... more”MIUI has the same rounded squares of iOS”
OneUI 3.1 has the same rounded squares for all the home screen icons as well, albeit arguably curvier. Android skins from major Chinese manufacturers (Xiaomi, BBK, Huawei), Pixel's customised version of Android 12 and OneUI 3.1 all look much more similar to each other than they do to iOS, which is a good thing IMO.

Alternatives? no foldable is worth than this. sadly it is only China.

Good review. Find N is only competitive if it is cheaper by $600 than z fold 3 (effective price - after accounting for all the discounts, gifts etc). The lower price is to offset for no ipx8, no spen support and compromises of the squarer, shorter and smaller screen of find N.

Btw: Find N better standby battery life is due to its aggressive deep sleeping apps (i.e. say goodbye to timely notifications). So battery endurance is not much better than Z fold 3.

All the Chinese do is copy Apple or others and then sell them cheaper since they didn't really need to pay their R&D teams for ripping off others' work. I own the Mi 3 and MIUI has the same rounded squares of iOS.

I actually want this device. But the software will hold it back and they'll probably go way more for retail trying to import it. Samsung's One UI has surprisingly been very good. I'm talking rock solid. Samsung doesn't get enough credit for their improvements in software. They've come a long way from ugly TouchWiz.

Phil, 22 Dec 2021of course i will buy this one as soon as it reaches Europe.... moreI thought about this myself but you really can't compare the two. Duo 2 isn't a true foldable. But I do think GSM Arena really doesn't pay attention to the Duo series.

Duo 2 is taller and much wider when closed. About 9 g heavier and no outer display which forces users to keep opening it up.

              Duo 2 when closed
              145.2 x 92.1 x 11 mm

Oppo Find N is about 133 mm in height and 73 mm in width. Much more manageable with one-hand.

JustSomeRandomGuy, 23 Dec 2021I Find it odd (pun intended) that there are no mention of t... moreColor OS has been receiving quite a bit of praise from reviewers since last year, when Find X2 Pro was released with the version 11. Xda Developer wrote an extensive piece of review that goes through all the features, pros and cons and concluded it with an uplifting tone. Its general perception has been largely positive even before the Oxygen & Color OS merge was announced, and people who are opposing the merge are classic Oxygen OS fans who prefer the minimalistic design language of the older versions.

Regarding the so called 'similarity' with iOS, this applies to all Android skins nowadays. Actually, the UI unification is happening across different OS. Windows 11 is very MacOS like because Microsoft's Fluent Design is essentially OS X combined with Windows 7's Aero design. Android 12 on Pixel is basically OneUI 2/3.0 with a different color palette, which itself has also been influenced by iOS. MIUI, EMUI, and Color OS all borrow a few elements from iOS too but the latter two leans much more towards Material You. They don't look the same but you will still find many elements that appear similar to each other if you try to look for them.

This ain't 2015 anymore, pal. The era when everybody was doing different things for the sake of being different is over. Users deserve more streamlined and consistent experience across different platforms, and that is what they are getting right now.

The Duo 2 is a no contest and not even a true foldable. It belongs in the same class as the G8x or V50/V60 from LG that is sandwiching 2 screens side-by-side.

While Oppo definitely has something going for the overall size, crease, and hinge, this review fails to fully tackle the software situation on the Fold N. Only first party apps (for now) work well for their flex mode, and the default landscape orientation on the inner screen is problematic for apps that do not have landscape orientation.

That is where the Z Fold3 stomps the Find N, not to mention there is S Pen support and DeX as well.

I Find it odd (pun intended) that there are no mention of third party apps that could and does not utilize Flex mode unlike the Fold 3. As mentioned by Michael Fisher, the native apps, mentioned in this review as well, perfectly utilize Flex mode but other than first party apps, everything comes crashing down.

plus, I can't help but notice that ever since Oppo and Oneplus merged, reviewers are starting to shill so heavily on ColorOS. this UI is far from clean to me. the intent to copy iOS is undeniable, just look at that notification shade yet again, there is no mention of anything like that

this is the reason why I will never buy Oppo phones. their blatant copying of iOS is disgusting (I mean the UI itself, not features)

Phil, 22 Dec 2021of course i will buy this one as soon as it reaches Europe.... moreTotally agree. No review, or even a rare mention of Duo 2 as comparison. Seems like some sort of strange vendetta.

"you can now choose between Enhanced (black), Medium (dark gray) and Gentle (light gray) backgrounds and system hues."

Are you sure this is new to ColorOS 12? It might be new to Oppo, but my Realme 7 Pro running Android 11 with RealmeUI 2 has it.

But why dont you never mention the surface duo 2 ?
As for me, its the closest competitor, if you look at size

Now if they can add an IPX rating and improve those stereo speakers a bit and send it to europe 👌

Very good device. Kudos to Oppo. Would I get it? No, but at least it's not a terrible device despite missing some hardware cues.

I would love to know why some stuff pointed as Con against some phones are not pointed out against other.

Like : punch hole, screen brightness, no AF for super wide camera , lack of 4k@60 for all cameras , no OIS for " zoom" camera etc ..

The battery life of this foldable actually beats some slab phones with the same chipset and completely obliterates the Fold Z3. A pity about the speakers. Oppo started off as an audio company so it's surprising that they couldn't get the speaker audio perfect.
