Everyone has so much complex and obsession about GMS the next thing they will say is that you can't even turn on the phone without it. Hate preinstalled bloatware more then anything if it was optional for you to install what you need then it is fine this includes the Play store, but things you can't uninstall suck.

Was hoping they will still use their inhouse Kirin Flagship SoC but sadly nope. Kirin was better than Snapdragon.

Excellent phone! No Google spyware, no battery drain because of lack of 5g, extremely smooth interface and fantastic camera which shows that even omnivision has great sensors.

I guess it's ... moreSo I wanted to fact check what you said about the P40 Pro+, and apparently it crops the images from the main sensor and periscope telephoto from 23 to 27mm and 240 to 270 respectively. I don't want to question anything anymore, let's just pretend everything makes sense.

I guess it's for marketing purposes, seeing how the P40 Pro+ telephoto was actually more like 8.5x zoom instead of 10x, and my P30 Pro having 4.63x zoom instead of 5x. Unfortunately, it won't let me shoot with the telephoto camera in this magnification unless I use it in Pro RAW mode.
Don't let these numbers fool you though. Unless you read all that, you wouldn't notice whatsoever when using the cameras on Huawei phones. They all have incredible zoom, regardless of being slightly below their advertised reach. Besides, Huawei does show the focal length in their unveilings.

With all the fuzz around it, I expected camera to be better. It has Leica brand, but results are same as any other top smartphone. I even find P50 photos really soft when zoomed in

The crop of the 64 MP camera is only 2x more zoom (64 / 4 = 16), for a total of 7x zoom together with the 3.5 optical zoom Anything above 7x is digitally zoomed!
