It makes me sad that samsung doesnt care about speaker quality that much. :/ The extra bass on iphones are very noticable.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2022You're the one with no clue. Results show very good pe... moreYou're very salty and defensive over the Exynos chipset Lolz

It's a rubbish chipset. If you love it, that's fair enough. I wouldn't recommend tis awful chipset to anyone who wants a decent phone.

I boughr this beauty and I can say that is a monster. The only problem was the battery life which was almost the same as my old S10, 2 days at most with low usage. When was on standby used to loose 1% per hour and when I was using it more than 5% per hour.
Yesterday I was looking through the settings and I've disabled everything about Bixby and Facebook. Now on standby is loosing about 1% every 3 hours and about 1-2% by using it. Samsung should let us uninstall the Bixby and Facebook not only disabling it for those who are not using it.

Thank God I didn't order this phone. Cameras on phones don't interest me. They are good for every day but not for important stuff.
To lie about the charger, and lower the volume!? Forget it...

Aadrian, 04 Mar 2022I am also going to "upgrade" from my 4,5 years ol... moreIn absolute worst case scenario the note 9 is a decent upgrade from the 8.
In fact there was probably more upgraded going from the 8s to the 9s, even more so in the note, then any one since then. From the 9 to the 10, 10 to 20, 20 to 21, or now to the 22.

The 9 got stereo speakers, dual aperture, huge battery jump, heatpipe, etc. And is the last note with 3.5mm.

★Best display in the smartphone segment
★A battery life better than Xiaomi oppo OnePlus
and Goggle Flaship in most scenarios
★A charging system that I love it's the best to me it not slow and not too fast just 1hours to fully charge it's very much okay to me.

Featurewise, it's probably a step backwards, no headphone jack, no SD card slot, no LED notification light, no heart rate sensor. But the thing is, after almost 5 years I have to upgrade to another phone with S-pen, because I use it often. I will wait a couple months more before I get the Ultra.

I was a samsung fan my whole life but now I recommend just going to iphone, if you have the money. If not, you can get the A52S, because A53's rumors are already dissapointing AND depressing.

I have a comment somewhere below that I had this pre-ordered, but it was the most underwhelming upgrade I would do and I usually take years to upgrade (but I work with every generation, including iPhones, because of my line of business, so I am well aware of how things evolve). I take years to upgrade but usually hit a top tier device, so that it "holds" long enough.

So, I *did* receive my S22 Ultra yesterday.
My previous device was an ancient (but still in most things "current" enough) Note8.
It took a few hours to sync/port things and I'd say it succeeded 90% to get me to a state where I could just turn off and even factory reset my Note. It needed some manual work (esp. concerning some app logins) but nothing too much.

Kudos to Samsung, for making it easy to "feel at home" esp. coming from a previous Galaxy (even so many generations back).
But this also is part of the "underwhelming" thing I expected (and I was right).

I had a device with way older Android, way older UI, way slower (ha... but not that much, thanks Samsung) etc.
And I got to the supposed top-end device (esp. for Androids) until the next. Well it didn't feel like that.
My old UI was already smooth (and the difference in smoothness looked like it was because of 120Hz mostly - which is something you now get even in mid-range), my apps worked fine already (and most games), my camera was significantly worse but still respectable (and after all I didn't move to DxOmark #1 but to #13... although the new zoom is out of this world). More importantly, I really needed the extra space (not storage, but also space for apps), moving apps to SD is VERY problematic when it can be done).
Since I wouldn't (and couldn't) wait any more when and if Xiaomi (I am really not looking at any other brands except those two) will release a great 12 Ultra (with many "buts" that are not for this thread). I made the move.

Thing is: I didn't feel any super upgrade or something really revolutionary (or significantly evolutionary) stepping from Note8 to Note 22... erm S22 Ultra. This from the side of the USER. From the side of tech enthousiast and IT pro, where we love numbers, yes, some changes are significant, yet some are underwhelming even for enthousiasts.

It seems a lot of the innovation by Samsung in recent months is focused on the RAW files. It would have been great to get some RAW examples and evaluation of the Expert RAW and regular RAW in different situations. May be even night photos from tripod.

The difference this time is not so much.
Yes the s1-s8 exynos was better usually in numerous ways. Whether it's cpu, gpu, audio, or efficiency. But now it's sd.
