Pretty sad how little the camera improved. Sure, some processing improvements but hardly 1 year's worth. The gimped 8K video mode just shows Samsung didn't spend much time improving over S21 Ultra

The review didn't mention anything about the vibration motor.. the s22 lineup uses a vibration motor operating on the x-axis as opposed to the z-axis that its previous flagships have used. This results in significantly weaker perceived vibration on the s22 ultra. This is only bad if you depend on the vibrate function on your phone for calls and notifications. A very big oversight on Samsung's part.

[deleted post]Because screens for TVs and computers used to be 4:3.
Many of those compact cameras are 4:3 as well.

              Imx486 used by Sony Pro-i is 3:2.
              Imx789 used by OP9 Pro is 16:10 (50MP).

That's a damn nice haircut that Will is sporting!

The camera is exactly what I expected. Not as good as it should be. However, per Samsung's past phones, It should improve a lot up to the S23.

Last post, and some rage...this phone is going back. Had enough! Absolutely awful. In my house I have right now.... iPhone 13pro, pixel 6 pro, sony 1 iii, pixel 4a, Samsung Note 10+. This S22 ultra exynos is the worst performing phone of all of them.

People need to lose their jobs for this, not the engineering team, I know how product development works. It's the executive team that whines about adding an extra $1 heat pipe because that's $5m out of my bonus.

Worst phone experience for me. I just hope the Tab S Ultra I have coming is better

                      Just got the latest update.
Screen flicker is gone. So lags in places, starting to annoy me. Battery is extremely poor, euro trash exynos here. Gets hot for no major reason, maybe background update or something.

Doesn't really feel like a big upgrade over the note. My kids iPhone 13pro seems so smooth and my wife's pixel 6 pro compared (although she has loads of connection issues😂.

doesn't matter whatever you expect from the camera, ultimately it's a 12MP camera with 4:3 ratio and these 4:3 images fit nowhere, your PC has a 16:9 screen, your phone has a 9:19 screen, 4R photo papers are in 3:2! i don't understand why these image sensors are in 4:3!!! and if you crop these 4:3 images to 3:2 or 16:9 they become 10-9 MP.......... what's the point???? I'd like to suggest the concerns to bring a ~6mmX9mm ~2/3" 4000X6000p 24MP image sensor.

                          Hey guys,
Thanks for the review. You used to post pictures in 108mp mode (full size). It was super useful. Could you upload the samples, please? I want to compare it with the s21 ultra.

very bad battery for such an expensive phone, it does not make for professional use unfortunately.

I might buy the next generation S23U if they hopefully finally give up the curved screen (weird "feature" for a stylus phone). I do not like the missing 3,5 jack and SD card slot, but with 512GB I can at least forgive the omission of an SD card slot. I wish they would come up one day with a fan edition which includes all the lost features - this might be a huge surprise success...
