gsmfan1, 24 Mar 2022which Oppo actually ditched in find x5 pro. I would love in... moreOfcourse there are plenty of stuff you can develop when it comes to cameradevice. Samsung s22 have had many complains about not doing somehting different or funny. I think Oppo did the exact opposite with their magnification camera even if its usefullnes is much smaller. Samsung should be able to both making a stable phone with the speccs that people expect and include some new funny stuff thats actually useful.

Lol, iPhone 13 Pro has the same endurance as the base S22. I wonder how that can be when iphones don't have any features.

l held the phone in a shop today and it is really uncomfortable especially backside being flat the sides really bothered me, S21FE sits much better in hand. l usually use a case just outside and when l'm home l take it off. l was between S21FE and S22 but now l made my desicion. YMMV

stinkfist, 24 Mar 2022About boredoom. I would love to see some development in the... morewhich Oppo actually ditched in find x5 pro. I would love instead an improvement in ultra wide, it has been the same 1/2.55" inch sensor for many years now. autofocus on ultrawide should be available on all models not only the ultra for good macro shots. I think a periscope cam can also be included. Still, I think adding real optical zoom and a wider GN5 sensor is a welcome development.

Anonymous, 24 Mar 2022Samsung made huge mistake this year by not using imx766 for... moreThat wouldn't make any difference. iQOO 9 Pro uses the same (or similar) Samsung-made 50MP sensor as S22 and the results are very commendable. It's simply that Samsung's image processing absolutely sucks, not that the raw image quality is bad.

About boredoom. I would love to see some development in the cameradepartment. For example I like the idea with microscope camera x60 magnification that Oppo had in their Find x3 pro. I also see no reason why Samsung wouldn't give the same camerasetup across the s22 line.

Sea of interesting and exciting devices?? Like Xiaomi, one+ and others?
Every recent device is as boring as the other.
May be the mentioned Asus and Sony are worth considering for SD card and audio jack. I can see no other compact devices that are ExCiTiNg. "Default" doesn't seem to be a bad choice.

Incremental is OK fewer big changes mean fewer problems. But there's always the risk of people deciding the increment is too small to warrant updating. It's getting close to that point with me. My OP6T is good enuff and I'd not be thinking of a replacement if it wasn't for the cracked screen or a wish to keep up-to-date with the OS.

A 3700 mah battery pack would be considered "groundbreaking" when put on an iPhone.

frontbacked, 24 Mar 2022You've now documented image softness on Exynos version... moreThe samples from xda's review has similar issues too. So it seems more like a lens issue.

WonderingGuy, 24 Mar 2022I looked precisely on you test photos in 100% crop and also... more1) sensor is tetracell not nonacell
2) "calculated wrong way" does not exist. This tech just read 4 pixels as one instead of one by one. Nothing more.

I want the S22's camera (although I can't say that the camera produces much better daylight shots than me S9+) partnered with Xiaomi 12x's battery life. How hard can it be??

Anonymous, 24 Mar 2022"Samsung's flagship Galaxy S devices have always ... moreBuild quality is not that. It's how the phone feels on your hand, or how it was manufactured. Glass is glass and glass breaks, plus that does not mean that this phone is cheaply built.

I looked precisely on you test photos in 100% crop and also on GsmArena test patterns and clearly there are some problems with camera and/or post processing. Maybe your phone is defective?
Pictures have awful sharpening halos, corners are really blurry, especially lower right. Additionally complicated patterns like foliage are rendered in awful way - probably 9 to 1 binning is calculated in wrong way. I planned to change to this phone from my old but gold (color ;-) S9 but comparing the photos my S9 is clearly superior (i'm comparing only main camera because there is no other one in s9).
Maybe it's fixable in firmware or they put to big sensor and too small lenses in front of it.
I will wait and look if other reviews show similar thing.
Thanks GSMArena for doing such comprehensive test!
Cheers!

Pixel 6a premiere date and availability still unknown. Will be 6.4 so quite big. I like the pure OS from Google, but one UI is not that bad. 4y of promised soft support convinced me. Buds pro as a gift when you preorder. It'd my first Samsung and I am not disappointed.

Samsung always, always leaves somthing to be desired on the next generation. Shame.
