For example, in my country their cost (A53 and A52s) is not much different.
So I'm thinking about getting a newer model. I'm also worried about flickering as this will be the first phone with an Amoled screen.

As for the topic, little question. From my perspective you guys there have quite high prices, is that why many seek custom ROM, Exynos and so on? As wrote before, it's opposite where I live. Exynos unpopular, Snapdragon has good reputation long-term.

No need to mess with custom ROMs etc. O.K. that's matter of taste. BUT I've never heard of love to Exynos and it's rather opposite people do buy it because it's reliable so please speak for yourself, or UK, or some developer community, not Europe and Asia lol. I'm in EU. Thank you

Snapdragon, really. What a joke. Absolutely trash when comes too rooting and custom Roms and kernels. Developers love EXYNOS, hate snapdragon, because closed source codes. Europe and Asia we love Exynos, Snapdragon is available in here in UK, but they are interested and love Exynos.
Snapdragon on ebay here in UK, no one buys them.

But again, both regular A5x 5G and A5xS 5G series has their own plus minuses.
If you are looking for newer phone design and cant wait to try newest Android OS/One UI, go buy regular A5x series.
If you are looking for better processor and dont mind with its older design, go buy A5xS series.
Samsung create these two series (A5x and A5xS) to accomodate two types of consumers, so people could choose which one is better for their need.

And you better tone down your excitement about the A53 getting 4 years OS updates. Exynos chipsets are notoriously poor in longevity and you can take reference from phones like the A51 that started to lag after OS update to Android 12 recently. It's still too early to know whether the A53 can retain performance after getting its 3rd and 4th OS update.

This phone is far better than its predessor A52 4G.
A52 = 3 years major OS upgrade
A53 = 4 years major OS upgrade (Android 16/One UI 8), new design, 120hz screen
A52s is also good, but its successor A53s 5G will come next August and has similar design as A53 5G.
