They keep saying the at this point in time still imaginary A53s as the true successor of A52s.

in my opinion, i have the chance to choose between A52S and A53, So I bought the A52S- good price with better performance due to my research, with better chip processor, Aux jack and lower price.
But the differences that Samsung has stopped producing the A52S, and it's not available in many stores. But i had the chance to own one.
I think the A52S is the best choice to take due to his powerful Snapdragon processor and better price.

This phone is really a great successor of Galaxy A52. New design, better camera, 5 years software support. Good job and great work Samsung👍
I believe Samsung will create another great phone like Galaxy A53s 5G as a successor of Galaxy A52s 5G.
This is absolutely the second best midrange Android (1st Galaxy A73 5G) in the first half of 2022.

If they released regular model with Exynos and S with SD every year, then you could clearly wait for one of them as the succesor of preferred chip model ( I don't think they would). The thing is that logically and usually the new gen model has at least equal or faster chip than all of previous generation - thus being succesor n fact (if this is important to resolve for you guys). That's expectation. Since this isn't the case + jack's missing, it's first of all easy to understand people are disappointed, and it's also bit confusing. Even though chipset still suits midrange and other than that phone' isn't bad, with good software support to it. (Btw I've been to one shop yesterday and saw A53 though it was yet 'Demo' but also no A52 available there. OEM can do what he wants. So can do customer.)

A53s is the successor of A52s, not of A52.
iPhone se 2022 is the successor of iphone se 2020, not of iphone 12 or 13.
Only smart people understand this little facts.

OP said he had the exynos version so for exam... more... so we all (including reviewer) agree A53 should be a bit better and it would be okay. Keeping jack and equally or just slightly better (compared to 778) performing chip would be enough. (I thought it'd be like this too, even thought never thought of waiting for it)

OP said he had the exynos version so for example the a52s has a better cpugpu combo overall.
Second, camera is on par minus the telephoto.
Third, OP stated the software update policy is important so that's hands down the a52s route as s10 got it's last update in android 12.
So I guess OP expected a slightly better device in the a53 than a52s or at least on par.
We all know that sans the software support the a52s is superios to the a53 so....
