To get real 50mp images you have to disable HDR. Otherwise it's just upscaled, so daft. I don't know why Oppo allow 50mp with HDR enabled.
Turn off HDR and the 50mp mode will output completely different images. X3 Pro owner here, applies to that model too.
Also I like the 2x camera. It's like a real 50mm camera lens which is a really nice focal length to work with. I've had 5x on a P30 Pro and imho large zooms are a party trick, not useful for pretty photos in the majority of situations. Yes handy occasionally. But 2x I use daily.

Promising huhu :D (I hope that some has to do with the few of tweak that Xiaomi does anymore, it was way better in the past ...)

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022Google own the OS. Samsung makes 73 billion dollars reven... moreIn the Oppo branch, don't forget to include all of the galaxie from BBK : OnePlus, Realme, Vivo and with Oppo, they flood the market like Samsung did in the past, and reuse the same 'model' to almost have a serie in each brand, sadly. But they offer less support in the long term (And how they manage OnePlus OxygenOS debacle says a lot, GSMA did an articvle about it : https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_oxygenos_12_review-news-52205.php , and this is how they will operate from now : https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_oxygenos_13_will_be_closer_to_stock_ui_oneplus_10_pro_launching_end_of_march_globally-news-53366.php ), charge a premium price over Samsung and other (few) brand 'in place', like Sony, that also charge a premium but with another way of thinking (or not in some case :-D), so why Oppo ? At this level of price, it's a long term investment right now, not like in the past when flagship were at 700 or 800 EUR ... Now it's more when you have to pay 1200 or 1500 EUR if you want to the tier storage, sometimes offering 1Tb version when a 512 MicroSD from Samsung cost around 50-60 EUR or way less sometimes (Had mines @ 28 EUR), warranty 10y and 90/100 R/W speeds. It's more convenient to have and with the memory shortage going on (See S22U orders being cancelled for the 256-512Gb models since they prefer to sell a lot more 128Gb), it would ease up a bit. Removing the MicroSD slot was a big error here, specially if you consider this 'Top notch' (no pun intended to Apple even of they don't offer MicroSD, but with them, it's a way of life, their vision that you have to accept or found work around) :P

Flagship killers are long gone, sadly. (Around OnePlus6 perhaps? I don't remember, if someone do, please, share!)

nanagdad, 15 Apr 2022Imagine spending $1200+ on midiocure software support. And ... moreI completely agree to your post. And why I didn't bought X3 or X5 Pro. I had the X2 Pro along the Note10+ (That I still use daily) along with a S22 Ultra right now (The missing SD slot is a pain ... Even with 512 Gb due to the video of my drone, and that's why I will perhaps keep my Note10+ (just for drone usage), since it will have more support and a value resell is about a Galaxy A53 brand new ... So in case of S22U dead I'd rather have my Note haha) but then I remembered all the things that I didn't like in the X2 Pro and now, all the 'things' that are missing here, S8G1 was the only advantage but apparently, not so much. Perhaps now S7G will be better choice in usabily overall. But limited with the camera setup that will not be 'flagship'. I must say that the S22U is buttery smooth and the screen is gorgeous, specially @QHD, which is kinda ... rare today, even amongst 'flagship' (Hello Xiaomi 12 @ 900 EUR with HD+ resolution). It's the Exynos version but didn't get plagued by GPS issues (That a lot of ppl had) but again, I continue to use the Note10+ more daily since the S22U is kinda ... bulky. The general form / soap like isn't great, a case helps but Pitaka isn't available right now and their model seems way inferior to the Pitaka for Note10+ that was top notch. I choose The S22U given the price paid (around 830-850EUR for the 512 version in green + Buds Pro sold since I already had them), is frankly great, even with the SD missing. I really hope that in the future, they will not get attached to this trend, specially when flagship models starts at 128 Gb ... Whereas somes midrange model starts @ 256 Gb + MicroSD. Given the speeds of SD cards todays, it's more than enough to store data, and more importanlty, if the phone is dead, I have a 'ready/available' copy instantly; which isn't the case without. Back in the days, when phones weren't IP certified, it saved some medias whereas the phone was just dead after a few hours due to oxydation starting.

If this phone had the same telephoto camera setup as X70 Pro+, I would have been glad to pay its asking price for this phone. It's a bit overpriced for what it currently offers.

Better wait for the OP 10 Ultra, which should be a close copy at a lower price..

The P40 Pro has an equally good ultrawide and it was released two years ago.

No one wants an unreliable service and aftersales network. Buy this, tomorrow resale value drops by 30-40%. UI is smooth but updates are slow. Will still prefer the fruit phone or Samsung

I like the 2 main cameras as they give me awesome shorts everyday.

I got in pre-order but no case included in French model like for previous models. AliExpress saved the day with awesome cases!

Can someone actually tell me why a flagship is better then myvm51 samsung. Hoe am I to notice the difference?

Bad battery life. Stay with my m51 Samsung. Still waiting for flagship with super battery life and super fast charging. The rest I do not care. For a guy like ne they all do the same . And a bit faster or slower....I do jot notice. The 120 hz screen abd so on they can keep also. Do not notice that either. I really tried.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022Don't understand why people think S22 ultra or iPhone ... moreThe Find x5 is an excellent phone, and I agree with most of the points that you raised. Oppo throws all the toys at the Find X series, and they definitely try harder to push the envelope than Apple or Samsung does. The 8 gen 1 is a crap SoC though, its standby battery drain is horrendous. Great phone, wrong SoC. The D9000 one is China-only so it's hard to tell how much better that one is versus the 8 gen 1 global version.

I'm liking the Oppo battery life on their flagships. And it appears that MariSilicon actually improves the photos. They really should dial up the sharpness on the vanilla X5's photos to make them comparable. Please test the D9000 version of the X5 Pro.
