That explains the technical side.
However, its a strange marketing decision. Why would they use nerfed NPU? Surely not including 4K would limit it to a crowd that's more into apps and speed, but very basic multimedia. An that sort of limits its use cases.

      Samath N8 808 owner, 30 Apr 2022One of the world's mysteries which will remain for yea... moreFrom what I've researched & read, the factor of why SD695 5G doesn't support 4K@30fps recording is because of the weaker/nerfed NPU (ISP/DSP), utilizing Hexagon 686 compared to SD690 5G's Hexagon 692. The SD625's Hexagon 546 in this case, despite being older, was more powerful and able to handle 4K video rec. than the Hexagon 686 one inside SD695. There could be more reasons, but slower NPU is the widely-accepted answer.

        Could find phones with ultrawide for that price, just a quick search. For better imagination, its the price you can get flagship killer minote10 for. lol

            Wow, I haven't seen a phone scoring 'Poor' in the current format loudspeaker test before. I guess there is a first for everything.

            Impressive battery endurance for a phone with such big LCD display and 4800mah battery. Shame that the phone still booting up with Android 11 though.

              One of the world's mysteries which will remain for years is,
              How come a 2014 Snapdragon 625 supported 4K30 video recording, while 695 which is many generations later doesn't?

                TECH--BEAST, 30 Apr 2022Haven't seen a midranger with such slim bazels in awhileI've seen enough midrangers with similar bezels. And to be fair, slightly bigger bezels aren't even an issue, my Zenfone 8 isn't impressive in that regard either. In the end it's all about the specs and those are just underwhelming here

                    Honor needs to do far better in midrangers category. i guess X8 is almost the same but with a cuter design.

                        sd 695 ugh... 765 or 870 could be better for this series
