Security updates will carry on for another 2 year till 2026, that's for sure.

Only these Xiaomis with just a number in their names will in fact get 3 OS upgrades plus 4 years of security updates, it means these models released in 2022: Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, 12 Lite, which all will eventually get Android 14 and 15 and security updates until 2026.

Truth about Xiaomi 12 Lite upgrades is here:
1) 3 Android OS upgrades. Meaning it will indeed get Android 15.
2) Security updates 4 years starting from release of phone in early 2022.
3) There are people even here who falsely claim that only 2 OS upgrades will come which isn't true because after pressure from primarily Samsung they changed it in 2022 to be 3 OS upgrades only for all Xiaomis with just a number, meaning Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, 12 Lite. Check info about 12 Lite on "Android update tracker" to see that this is the truth.

The battery is worse probably due to the 120Hz pentile diamond pixel display compared to Mi 11 lite 5G NE's 90Hz Tianma RGB delta pentile display which has significantly fewer green pixels and lower resolution. I hope GSMarena watches out for the subpixel layout next time.
I advise you guys to have the 11 lite 5G NE instead. It's much more optimal
