We're already deep into computing territory, even second class setups with powerful ISPs perform decent these days. A credible engineer would never design a setup for bokeh performance, that's just YOLO.

      Not sure why they left out the Pixel 6 Pro - Great (for a phone of course) natural bokeh from the main and 4x optical zoom.

            - By "GCam" I mean the GCam ports and not the original GCam app on Pixel,

            - GCam ports allow you to change virtually every part of the processing, including but not limited to contrast, noise reduction, gamma curve/tone mapping, saturation, sharpening, the number of frames to be stacked, the min/max exposure, whether to use super-resolution stacking to improve details (on Sony sensor), white balance offset etc, meaning you can make the photos look like Sony's shots if that's what you want,

            - They also offer an option for multi-frame RAW, which is generally far more useful than a regular RAW from a small mobile phone sensor.

            Sony's camera app gives you great manual control (although some GCam ports also have a manual mode) and does have a great tracking AF, sure. But as soon as you start comparing the final image quality, Photo Pro wouldn't come anywhere close. There's a reason why many people talk about the usefulness GCam on the mobile photography forum on DPReview, but you rarely see any conversation going on regarding Xperia.

            You think it's s*** because you never used it and in fact you never deeply cared about mobile photography in general. I have, and I know what GCam ports are truly capable of.

              Bokeh = sensor size + entrance pupil + focus distance vs distance from subject to background. Simple 🙂.
              I just bought the Axon 40 Ultra and am looking forward to trying it out, but it aint gonna compete with my Sony A9 + 85mm f1.4. The entrance pupil on that lens is 61mm with a full frame sensor (24x36mm). No camera phone will ever come close.

                Lots of subjective judging in this post and rather hard to read. I can't see what you are seeing.

                  No, a brand that also make cameras will not do any of this. Phone will remain made to do what their 📷 would do, obviously not with same quality (no phone cam).

                  Before you make scandal. Feel free to look again samples of P6P and see how worse they look to any other phone above $700.

                  Same sample again. See on right side, the Cycas behind light pole. Photo taken in daylight at base ISO should never do it, that looks same you would get with iso 3200 or more.

                    It does not have any zoom.

                          Although the Mi 11 Ultra is my dream phone. I still wish to that the Honor Magic 4 Ultimate was here. Easy win. King of bokeh. Biggest cleanest bokeh ever in a smartphone.

                            Even natural bokeh is not really natural due to the AI and software processing. This test is null and void unless you can somehow get the raw image from the sensor from ALL phones.

And honestly why? When I currently have an A7RII with a 35mm f1.4 at arms length. If you want to see real creamy bokeh get yourself a real camera.

                                    Right now, the Pixel and gCam apps aren't the best.
