Anonymous, 05 Jul 2022“ By the way, Asus promises two major OS updates and at lea... moreYup. Much like Xperia phones, it's the kind of daily driver I want, and much like Xperia phones, it's crippled by mediocre software support promise for the high price you pay.

Nagging about only 24fps@8k is a bit of a stretch considering it's a gaming and that even strongest camera phones such as s22ultra and 12s Ultra are also capped @24 fps

Something definitely not right with the numbers. Too much of a big difference between x mode and x+ mode. Also, some of the numbers, even with x mode turn on is just a few frames above rog5s. Something is definitely missing here. Not updated test or asus need to update firmware.

That the only Mediatek device in the comparison list is Neo 3 with B8100, and still pulling punches against all the might Snapdragon powered phones, is pretty much impressive.

Where are the TSMC fanboys? 😂😂

                    I don't give a F about Xiaomi.

But even Motorola and Sony give 3 years with their Edge 30 Pro, and that is saying something from a company that has TERRIBLE OS support.

Not to mention Apple, Samsung and Google giving even longer support.

Asus is NOT a small company, they have the money to give longer support, and at 999 euro to 1299 euro, which are Apple and Samsung prices they should be able to give MORE.

Even if this is a great phone, this stings a lot, because if they fixed that the phone would be a top recommendation even at THIS price.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2022So, without the external fan this phone has two options: ... moreJust some lies there…

Problem is the cores used in the chipset and its design. Not the most efficient design. AI is weak compared to D9000

Heavy ouch for a phone starting at €999 (Pro is €1299)

                            Wow this is strange

So in Xmode without the fan there is a (too big) list of phones that outmatch it.

But then with the Xmode+ that requires the fan it goes to the top spot.

Kinda sucks you need a pricey accessory for it, I wonder if you can get around it and use Xmode+ without the fan.

Looks like a solid phone, I just wonder if this time it doesn't snap in half and if the OS support gets longer.

So, without the external fan this phone has two options:

                                - drop stability to 60%, so it can run cooler
                                - keep around 90% but get too hot to hold

But people said the TSMC would solve all issues and phones would magically run 8-10 celsius cooler compared to 8g1.

No mention if the rog 6 has decent audiophile grade dac, that's interesting, could be downgrade from last year rog 5/5s

Since this is a gaming phone, don't you think it's customary to include FPS average on some heavy games like Genshin Impact and Civilization VI in the review? Just my two cents.

Kind of disappointed to be honest.

A better camera quality (even if it's not that bad) with a telephoto instead of macro (why? Are you guys using macro?) would have been nicer.

IPX4 isn't enough for the price. Sure it's sufficient for most people, but I'm biking on daily baisis and often under the rain, so having a IP68 phone is kind of mandatory. So I'm expecting my next phone to be at least IP68 if I put a certain amount of money in it.

Anyway, thanks for the review ! :)
