Great, now if only there was a SINGLE mobile game that interested me in the past 10 years there would be reason to buy this 240g hot, expensive brick.

But with the overclock compared to 8g1, this advantage is gone.
I knew this was gonna happen. I read about this on weibo more than z2 months ago.

Problem: the X1/X2 cores. Not if chip is made at Samsung or Tsmc.

WOW the energy efficiency is poor.
Only 16hr web browsing for 6000mah battery.
Contesting that, lets look at LG V60. 15hr for 5000mah .
8gen1+ is only 88% the efficiency of s865.

I would love to see how much power is using while performance mode x and x+ are active.

Sure, Samsung's current support commitment is fantastic, but it's part of a vicious circle that allows OEMS like Samsung with lot of money to sell all the more phones, and the OEMS that can't afford such commitment to sell even less, repeat ad nauseam until the least profitable OEMs exits the market. From there, either you support the ones with better support and participate to that vicious circle that's all but healthy, either you choose to help the OEMs in need with the pretty high possibility that it won't change much, if anything at all.

Thermal throttling is torture but I don't understand any difference for SD 8+ Gen 1 on the TSMC node compared to the Samsung foundry. If there are really any, please enlighten me.

Even with 8 Gen 1 + it throttles to 60% after 15 mins

Software support is not for free.

You can expect brand that probably sell less than 1 million phones to have same support of other that make 20-30x more money.

fastanddubious, 05 Jul 2022Where are the TSMC fanboys? 😂😂 Check performance sectionCheck again. Without the attachment(to be fair to phones without it), the performance drops to 60% after just 10 mins while temperature is above 50° C or so. The GT Neo 3(Dimensity 8100) is capped at 60 fps I think and runs at above 90% performance at a temperature of around 40° C.

At almost 3 times the price of a Poco X4 GT, only people who don't care about money would buy the ROG.

I like Asus products, and this is a very well-engineered product, but at double the price of a PS5 console, it misses the mark.

                              battery life is not impressive actually. new chipset,huge battery,low-res display but 31-16-20h @165Hz (31-19-20h @60Hz) is quite weak compared to older chipset s22ultra's 32-17-18h @120Hz (32-19-18h @60Hz) or iphone13pro max's 27-20-24h @120Hz.

So I don't think I will get that phone, but just for the sake of curiosity, are we sure that the standard ROG 6 gets the same haptic motor improvement as the pro?
Also, it would have been nice to mention a bit more of the Android 12 features in the review. Granted, if my experience with the Zenfone 6 is any indication, Asus isn't the kind of OEM to remove software features like Xiaomi seems to do at times, but it's nice to be sure that things like Privacy Dashboard and others are there as expected.

No SD card. Since as per usual, the 512 gb version barely or even don't at all reach the shores of Europe, this here is a hard pass.

Anyway, Asus is fond of releasing that sort of demo-like things, trickle it through the marketplace making them extremely hard to find except in China, and there you have it. We know the drill.

                                  Thanks Asus, but no thanks.

But if you wanted a better overall phone Asus' flagship line of Zenfones have always been the better phone of Asus' product line.
