No, it's not Quad Bayer. It's a modified Quad Bayer sensor where 50% of the pixels don't have a color filter. Though I don't know which pixels are binned.

    It isn't just replacing some green pixels, it also replaces some blue and red pixels according to a previous presentation. 50% of the pixels don't have a color filter.

      Looks surprisingly similar to Zenfone 9.

        Anonymous, 30 Jul 2022For how weak the hardware is and how large the battery, the... moreweak doesn't mean low battery consumption, its 12nm chips which is not efficient as current tech. but still 121h battery endurance is good enough.

          Samsung A series killer

            Ah seems good. For me all the same. I do not notice difference between expensive flagship of cheap. For normal stuff they all work. Better buy one with good batterylife. The rest.....I do not care. Ah and nfc For playing. Camera decent is good. Just for instagram abd so on. High refresh rate screen. I tried to noticd it....but I failed.

              There is in fact a Micro SD card slot as shown by the last photo on the second page- a dedicated one too.

                Pumpino, 30 Jul 2022I'm not sure why anyone would choose the Tecno over th... moreits the alternative of people who have tightest budget, and full of stuff. most brands like xiaomi, poco and others. dont gave you headset in box if you buy cheap midrangers from them. while tecno has one.

                  I'm not sure why anyone would choose the Tecno over the Xiaomi, Poco, Realme and Samsung options mentioned.

                    A solid entry-level device that was priced too high, unfortunately. Great battery life and a very solid pair of cameras seem to be getting overshadowed by a ghost-prone display, uninspiring performance and the lack of IP rating. Similarly priced Samsung/Xiaomi phones will be also provided with longer and more frequent software updates, too. Again, not a bad phone, but Tecno messed up the pricing.

                    On the bright side, the main camera with a brand new RGBW sensor showed a lot of promise when Tecno first announced it back in 2021, and it absolutely delivers. No weird colour shift like an RYYB sensor (where Huawei literally spent 18 months fixing it), low light performance is very solid, and unlike on Quad Bayer sensors, full resolution shots are completely artifacts-free due to the lack of need to perform remosaicing.

                    I'm expecting this new Isocell GWB sensor to do an even better job if other manufacturers start experimenting with it and use more mature processing algorithms for it. The future is looking brighter for smartphone cameras.

                        I am glad they put the phone in landscape mode in the banner image, else it would be mistaken for Zenphone 9.
