You set 120Hz, that is more stress on hardware to push more framerates.
This increase cpu activity. More heat is generated.
This also burns battery faster.
Even the standby time measured was affected, despite phone minimum to reamin turned on.

All phones come with 60Hz as default. Be sure most do not know and still use 60Hz.
90/120/144Hz is just making ppl pay more in the end.

    3rd party batteries, not in-house.
    No BBK phones with fast charging charge at low temperatures. Charging at 43-47 celsius is not good for battery.
    Fun part is xiaomi advertises same 80% , when their phones pass 50 celsius when charging (Mix 4 can go near 60 celsius).
    Apple has 27W on iphone for own choice. There are macbooks with more than 90W.

    You do not need to put 50, 80, 120, 300W. Just make it constant ar for example 20, instead of starting at 30 then decrease to 15 at spme point.
    Ipad with 12W can easily fill more than 4000mAh in 90 min.

    Also no phone with fast charging reaches speed advertised. Peak is always 20-30% lower, it happens for fraction of time like few seconds only.
    Like 120W from xiaomi that peak is 80W.

But optimizations can make huge difference if Oem from display, soc, software etc is aimed to make phone last longer in battery.

      This pixel and Xperia 10 iV can be good example of that.

        But once you saw and experienced 120Hz (especially with 240-360Hz touch sampling rates), going back to 60Hz is almost impossible.
        Also, why somebody will give their hard earned money to Google for a 60Hz phone, when all (and I mean all) of their competitors offer 90Hz or 120Hz displays in same price point? Just for software experience, which by the way, in recent times is not that great either.
        I just can't find a single reason why I will choose this phone over anything else on the market, at the same price point. Heck, I will rather buy the Nothing phone 1 instead of this Pixel 6a.

                The biggest two deal breakers for me are the refresh rate and the slow charging. Honestly, I think I'd even rather have faster charging than higher refresh rate. I can't even imagine taking two hours to charge a phone anymore, it's just way too long.

                  Phone A has sensor 70% larger than phone B.
                  Phone A easily wins, but many say phone B loses because software is not good enough.

                  It is same dumb thing when people think battery endurance is 90% software optimization, while screen resolution is main difference. Reason phones with HD/Full HD last much more compared to QHD/4K

                        Lol, 18W charging speeds (and they don't even give the charger). Almost 2h for a full charge. Pathetic for 2022 standards.
                        I mean I get it Google, you want protect the battery, but you can do that with 30W charging speeds and 45-60 minutes for a full charge. Majority of competitors offer this, even in budget segment. For example Motorola Edge 30.
                        Apple and Google are stuck in the past when it comes to charging speeds. We live in a world of speed, nobody has time to wait 2h until the phone is charged.
                        Not to mention, the battery isn't great either, so I doubt it going to last a whole day, especially in medium to heavy usage.
                        Definitely No for me.

                                So why, is the pixels pre release software deserving of an "unacceptable" rating because of the fingerprint sensor, well Samsung has had similar issues, again in pre release software, and that doesn't matter? First of all it's pre release software. The public will never see it. Second of all if you're going to call google out on this why didn't you call out Samsung on it?

                                  60Hz is what makes 6a runs cooler than 6 Pro.
                                  Gsmarena has not noticed this simple fact.
